Hi, just thought I'd bore you lovely people about myself :)

As of 1st of Jan I plan on logging my food/calorie intake, I'm completely new to calorie counting. I've done weight watchers and slimming world and have lost weight with both, but put it back on due to my really bad motivation lol.

So I've decided I'm going to try out this way, as I'm hoping its financially better than the others.

Im hopefully going to be using mfp and minimins to log my foods etc.

Would love some tips of you guys :)

Ive decided I will be starting at 2000cals, I know that might seem high, but my tdee is 2051cals, and I'm going to lower it as and when I feel comfortable :)

Also I won't be eating any calories from exercising. Please feel free to help me out..it's going to be a long journey lol.

I've also brought kitchen scales lol :)
 
Welcome to calorie counting and good luck! :) It's very sensible to start on 2,000, especially if you're not going to eat your exercise calories. Too many people make the mistake of starting on a low number, then have nowhere to drop down to when they stop losing. I started on 2,000 myself, but with no exercise. All the best. :) xx

Yeah after reading someone elses diary..I thought im not going to jump in at 1200 because it would probs be harder for me to stick to in the long run. Thanks :) x

I also think you're wise. Exercise will provide the deficit without you feeling like you're starving....very best of luck

Thanks. I just didn't want to get to obsessed either lol as I've seen some people that go too far and then the next thing is they have an eating disorder, my friend did that. So trying to be more realistic lol.

Thank you! I need to drop a few Christmas pounds, lol, then it'll be back to maintenance. :) xx
 
So, it all starts tomorrow..I don't even know what to eat! Haven't even done any food shop tut tut. All I know is that I've got 2000cals lol.

Anyhows, I've just come back from Chinese buffet restaurant..how naughty is that. Thought I'd get it in before restrictions lol. Plus it is the last one if the year ;)

I worry a little bit in case I don't get much healthy stuff in ya know like fruit and veg lol...

Aw thanks chick! Starts tomorrow and I don't even know where to start plus my OH said I might not even consume 2000 cals lol! Will just wait and see aha.

Found your new diary too hun. Think you're very wise starting with a sensible cal allowance. :D

Yeah I think it's the way forward aha, I just hope it works lol.

Love Christmas pounds though lol, although mine was quite the opposite when I weighed myself yesterday (just out of curiosity) I lost 7lbs :O shocked. But will be weighing tomorrow officially, and things can change lol..I Chinese buffet today aha.

I don't blame you, make it the last naughty day of the year. I'm one if these people that gets as much junk in me before I have to diet lol! I know it's sounds bad but hey lol.
 
Having a little stress head on at the mo..

I'm wondering if I'd eat 2000 cals? Like what if I don't..I mean how do I even try eat more lol. Thinking that maybe it could be a little too high for me? I mean I don't want to force cals I don't need sort of thing.

I can't believe I'm already stressing and tomorrow's not even here yet! Lol! It would've probably helped if I knew how much cals I consume on a day of eating crap lol.

dont know how to work around that, maybe I'll just try my best until next week and I'll see how I've done, and if I don't manage to reach the 2000 a day I can lower it..just hope that if I do eat 2000 a day hope that I don't gain lol..
 
I think if you're exercising as well, then 2,000 should be a good gross figure to aim for, certainly to start with, but it's trial and error really. If you struggle to make up the calories, add a few calorie dense things like cheese, nuts, chocolate etc. Personally I can't survive without my daily chocolate fix! :) xx
