Mere
Mere's Diary
Hi Folks,
I started Exante almost three weeks ago and found this site a day or two after starting. I have been reading and posting every day since. Some of your stories are so inspirational and some are really funny. I am getting a lot of pleasure from feeling I am part of a thriving and hopefully thinning community.
I have been watching my weight for most of my adult life. I started dieting after my daughter was born. At that time I shot up from 7st 13lbs to about 16st. I decided that after she was born I would get the weight off. I wore maternity clothes for the first 6 months of her life as I would not go out and buy bigger clothes. On my daughter's first birthday I weighed in at 8st 2lbs and was back in size 10s.
That was all a long time ago, she is now 38. Since then my weight has gone up and down like a yoyo and I have been on just about every diet under the sun except a VLCD. They all work for a while but the weight comes back with a little bit extra until on 1st January this year I was horrified to discover I had gone up to 11st 7lbs the heaviest I have been since my daughter's birth.
I was a teacher of the Deaf and retired last year. Started going to the gym but also started going out for far too many lunches with friends.
I found Exante as I was surfing the net and then this site. What a God send. With all the support on this site I am sure I will reach my target of 9st in time for my dream holiday to Canada at the end of May. I am only 5ft 2ins so 9st was my goal weight at Weight Watchers. I am ashamed to admit I am a Gold member. I lose weight very slowly so this diary will probably be very boring. But thank you to anyone who takes the time to read it.
My moto is if you can believe it you can achieve it. So here is to all you believers out there. Good luck with your weight loss journeys.
