Hello all! So, I've finally decide to start my "diary". I am not sure if I'm going to post what I eat everyday because it'd be pretty repetitive, but I intend to do that every once and about and I welcome suggestions for improvements! Perhaps I can also share some of the recipes that I've been finding during my weight loss journey. I started changing my habits back in September 2014 and since then I lost quite a few kilos (yes, I am not from UK and I use metrics), as you can see in my profile. At this time, I moved from my home country with my glucose level above 300. I am all about the "love your body" philosophy, but at that point, I was not just fat, I was with an (severe) uncontrolled type 2 Diabetes. So, I don't mind if I am chubby, in fact, my goal is quite reasonable, but I want to be healthy.
I'm starting this diary because sometimes I want to talk / moan about dieting and exercises, but I know people are not really interested in hearing about that, but here we are all on the same boat! By now, I am tracking what I eat through Cron-o-meter (I don't like FitnessPal). I'm not really counting calories while eating, but I started to do that mainly to keep track of my daily ingestion of nutrients and vitamins.
I don't follow a plan, but I do like the idea of SW and I think my eating habits are more and less like that. I tried WW before, but the measuring thing drove me crazy and I don't see the point of taking care of my body if my mind is freaking out. Even if I try to control that, sometimes I can't avoid fear and self-blame :/. This is the hardest part for me, I would like not to think too much about dieting and what I am going to eat later (or that I have to go to the gym) because it affects my other daily activities. Have you dealt with that? Any suggestion?
Apart from that, it has been a great journey, with ups and downs, of course. I hope to hear from some of you
