I've been doing a different VLCD and posting in the Cambridge section as I intended to switch to them after I moved house, but seem to have settled on Slim and Save instead,so thought I'd say 'hi' here. I like the variety and the price compared to Cambridge. I still might switch to Cambridge as I get closer to goal because I could do with the motivation and support especially when introducing food again.
I'm half way towards my mini goal which is 12 stone. The reason I'm aiming for that is because it's right in the middle of being overweight (currently obese, boo). I also have a mental point where I think 'no more, I have to lose weight' and I really want that to be around 12 stone rather than the current level. One of the reasons I'm aiming for that as a mini goal is so I can throw out any clothes that don't fit me. My goal is 10 stone, anything I gain between 10 and 12 I'll try to lose the conventional way, but if I hit 12 then it's back on the packs. That has to be my rule!
I'm more concerned about maintaining than anything else, I know I've got a fair way to go before that becomes a concern, but it's the biggest battle, isn't it? As far as the diet goes, if you stay on the packs you'll lose weight, it's not rocket science and because it's temporary it's easy to have focus. Well, I say 'focus', I mean 'obsession', or maybe that's just me?
I guess I'm here for at least another 4 months, so I look forward to sharing the journey with other people in the same boat.
