Shifting to S&S to shift the pounds!

I've been doing a different VLCD and posting in the Cambridge section as I intended to switch to them after I moved house, but seem to have settled on Slim and Save instead,so thought I'd say 'hi' here. I like the variety and the price compared to Cambridge. I still might switch to Cambridge as I get closer to goal because I could do with the motivation and support especially when introducing food again.

I'm half way towards my mini goal which is 12 stone. The reason I'm aiming for that is because it's right in the middle of being overweight (currently obese, boo). I also have a mental point where I think 'no more, I have to lose weight' and I really want that to be around 12 stone rather than the current level. One of the reasons I'm aiming for that as a mini goal is so I can throw out any clothes that don't fit me. My goal is 10 stone, anything I gain between 10 and 12 I'll try to lose the conventional way, but if I hit 12 then it's back on the packs. That has to be my rule!

I'm more concerned about maintaining than anything else, I know I've got a fair way to go before that becomes a concern, but it's the biggest battle, isn't it? As far as the diet goes, if you stay on the packs you'll lose weight, it's not rocket science and because it's temporary it's easy to have focus. Well, I say 'focus', I mean 'obsession', or maybe that's just me? :p

I guess I'm here for at least another 4 months, so I look forward to sharing the journey with other people in the same boat. :)

Welcome to the S&S bus of obsession lol.

youre in good company here and I look forward to reading your successes and cheering you on xx

I like that there's a bus! Do we all hop on the scales regularly enough to know whether we weigh less after a speed bump?

I'm a little less obsessive at the moment due to moving house. Hard work, lots of cleaning and carrying, yuck. I'd better have a good loss this week with all three calories I'm burning!

My size 14s kept falling down while I was cleaning yesterday, I've had to stick a belt on today.

I'm seriously considered 5:2 to maintain. I've been doing a bit of research on it (mostly because when someone says 'oh if you lose weight quickly you'll put it all back on again straight away' I can say 'actually, there is a lot of scientific research into weight loss and regain, and method/speed of weight loss, barring surgery, has no significant relationship with the frequency of regain') and I've found that the overwhelming thing is exercise. 90% of people who maintain weight loss exercise regularly. It could be that people who are exercising regularly are also the people who are still looking at what they eat. It could be that people with a lot of self control are more likely to exercise as well as more likely to maintain weight loss. Who knows? Correlation and causation aren't the same thing. I just know I want to make exercise a part of my life in a meaningful way. I'm not that keen on gyms or anything, but I'd like to do something fun like horse riding, kayaking etc. Stuff that is fun and exciting and not a chore.

I'm currently fostering a border collie who can't be off lead just yet, so I'm thinking of doing cani cross (running with the dog attached to you) with him. Where we're moving to is quite rural, so there's lots of woodland paths I can run through and not be seen. The equipment is quite expensive though, not to mention the industrial strength sports bra I'm going to need!

Im thinking of doing 4:3 too to maintain when get to goal lol till i manage to fully be in control :) again hehe sounds as tho ur on the rite track hun keep going well done and will be following :) have a gd day xx

I had my veg allowance for the first time yesterday, I've been too scared up until now! I steamed some cauliflower and brocolli in the microwave and then poured over the chicken soup pack, it was bloomin lovely. Felt like real food!

I was a bit scared to weigh myself this morning after it, although I still managed to be half a pound down from yesterday so I was very relieved. Very excited about today's veg allowance, I think I'll try it with a cheesy pasta pack. :D

I could really eat my way through a supermarket right now.

Yesterday evening we went to our new house to clean and stuff, and were terrorised by local kids. They were in our back yard shining torches in (couldn't see how many or how old because it was dark in, just shapes outside the window) and throwing stuff at the windows. Then they shoved bread through the front door for some reason. I didn't feel safe but had to fake it because my boyfriend has a history of over reacting to everything, so I'm basically trying to calm him down while wondering how I'm going to be able to live there and if that's an ongoing thing. I signed a year long contract, not to mention the money I spent on moving, I can't afford to move again even if I hadn't signed that contract!

Sorry for ranting, not many places I can talk about it!

Almost moved into the new house, dogs seem ok here, the collie hasn't really liked how busy it is outside but he'll adjust, and he's only a foster so hopefully his forever home will be somewhere quiet!

We have to order drawers and wardrobes so until they arrive we are going to be living out of bags and boxes sadly! Hopefully it won't be too long a wait though.

I'm being ruthless with clothes, very scary! I think maybe an eBay session might be in order, I'll see if I can be bothered.

No official weigh in today, my scales seem a bit wonky. I'll bring them onto a flat floor at some point and weigh again. I really hope to see a loss but won't be too down hearted if not. It's just the scales, I haven't cheated so I should still have lost fat whether I can put a number on it or not!

Well done on keeping on track while moving. Hope the kids problem was a one off and you can settle.

Clothes sorting is good. I feel like I am doing it constantly not to mention all the decluttering I am doing at my parents. I am a bit of an eBay veteran. Sold and bought at no cost all through 9 stone of weight loss before. Find it hard to pay full price for things these days!! I do find I need a bit of a push to get going with it though.

Ebay veteran reporting for duty ;-)

Although, so far, I have mostly refused to buy "fat clothes" and have been surviving on a very limited wardrobe, hoping and praying that my weight will get where it should and I can wear my normal sized clothes!

I have started with my full veg allowance. And I must confess, I would not have coped without it. The food would not have been filling enough and (excuse the TMI) my bowels would not have been healthy on just the packets!

Well done for not using moving as an excuse for falling off the bus ;-) very impressive!

I hate selling on eBay but think I'll have to! I once considered starting an eBay service company, collecting people's tat, selling it for them and keeping 15% of the sale price as commission. I realised I hate it too much!

Another 100% day under my belt though. Had a friend round, lots of gossip and just ate a gorgeous cheesy pasta pack with cauliflower in.

The dogs have been horrors today, excited at their friend visiting, and then a plumber and then a man to connect the internet. Then the little dog found the box with all the dog goodies in and chewed a big hole in it pulling stuff out. I admire his perseverance, for an old boy he can sure be determined. If I had his iron will I'd be a size 8!

Go to a pub quiz, she said. There won't be anything to tempt you, she said.

They have free roast potatoes. That has never happened at a pub quiz before! I've forgotten all my packs today and I want to cry!

I'm wearing size 12 skinny jeans!

Sure, they're from Asda who are very generous with sizes, and they're a bit too tight, but that isn't the point! I'm wearing them and I can still feel my toes.

I've heard good things about Asda wonderfit but just have normal ones at the mo.

Currently wearing my Asda size 12s, and have been out for a new hair do and having a coffee with friends. It was fab, I do feel like I'm starting to feel like myself again.

First official weigh in in two weeks, I didn't want to count last week because I'm sure my scales were dodgy! It worked out in the end though, 5lbs over the 2 weeks. 5 and a half to be exact, but I'm saving the half until next week.

I am dreading Paris, I don't want to put massive amounts on but I also intend to drink (I miss alcohol soooo much!) so it's going to be a love/hate kind of thing going on. I've got a few weeks to worry about that, I'd love to be a comfortable size 12 by then, although that might be a tad optimistic.
