WELL WELL WELL, I have just recived a reply from slimming world here it is

so nooooo they dont deep fry there spuds lol so go and enjoy!!! xxxx and to the lady who was arumentative the other day ner ner ner!!!! lol​
 
I have acctually emailed them but am waiting for a reply itwas only yesterday I sent it but I am 110% sure it will be the same outcome lol
 
I Used to work for Wetherspoons, The jacket potatoes come in Pre cooked and frozen, we just microwaved them to cook. I suspect they rub oil on the skin be for they are cooked and frozen to crisp the skin. We would just micro them for 4 to 5 mins and the skin was already crispy.
 
Oh my, thats more like it! A girl at my group last week told us all when we were talking about eating out that they were 30syns each, on their own! I can tell her whats what now :) Thanks for the info!x
 
haha!!! my friend goes to a different sw meeting to me and her consultant has told them never to eat jackets from wetherspoons for this reason. Its bloody crazy if you ask me, as if you could deep fry a jacket potato!!!
 
I can see where the myth came from, last years food directory had the 8 oz sirloin steak, jacket and side salad at a whopping 24 syns :eek:
People tried to make sense of the shockingly high syns


Where as now if you look online they don't list the whole meal but it says on EE Jacket with no butter, mayo or salad cream is 0 syns and 8oz sirlion with all visible fat removed is 0 syns so as long as you don't put the dressing on the salad you can have the same meal for a grand total of 0
 
I used to work at spoons. They pump them with something to get them fuller. Hence their higher calorie content!!! Xxx
 
I can't see the point of wetherspoons lying to SW, there would be hell to pay if they were found out. I am eating out tonight and plan to have a jacket
 
They are not lying I got it from the horses mouths!!!!
 
V happy about this - there's a Wetherspoons near work, and the jacket is literally the only vegan/SW friendly item on the menu! The jackets defo don't seem 'deep fried' anyway - would n't that make them incredibly greasy?
