Diary of a Hopeful Loser (Food Diary)

Jayellekay

this time - the last time
Hello
My main diary is in the gold members section.

Quick intro - this is my new food diary. I am using SW as my long term maintenance plan - having lost 4st 10lbs on CD SS this year. Being 5ft nothing my BMR is very low, so in order for me to maintain a healthy weight (something I have never achieved in my adult life) I will always need to concentrate on my food intake. SW is a plan I can live with forever, and once at goal think it will provide the restrictions I need to maintain, but the flexibility I need for a life-long plan!
I lost over 2st on SW about 5 years ago - so I know it works!
I still have some weight to lose, and have not yet decided how I will do this (SW or CD) - but for December I will be following SW. A trial run for when I'm at goal!

My target during this period will be to maintain, and still be "in the 11's" come New Year's Day.

I am going to track the calories and food content on myfitnesspal too. I appreciate that this goes against the principles of SW, but this is all part of my food education process!

Wish me luck!!

Inspirational thread
I've followed this thread for awhile! So I decided to make it this morning.

Ingredients
Tesco Turkey Breast roasting joint
2 & 1/2 pints of Oxo chicken stock (8 cubes)
3 potatoes
3 medium onions
3 cloves of garlic
2 x bags of baby Brussel sprouts
Pettit Pois (small handful)
Dried sage
Salt and Pepper
Paxo Sage and Onion Stuffing

1. Put the turkey joint in the oven and cook as directed.
2. Lightly fry the chopped onions and cloves of garlic
3. Add the stock, dried sage and peeled roughly chopped potatoes. Leave to simmer for 25 mins until the potatoes are soft.
4. Blitz with the hand blender to make a smooth soup base.
5. Add Brussel Sprouts and Peas (either boil for 5 minutes separately, or add to the soup and leave for 20minutes)
6. Chop the cooked turkey into small chunks.
7. Serve with stuffing (optional)

I am assuming this will serve 6 meals. I'll come back and update this if it goes further (or if I eat it faster!)

Today is a failure for "making good choices", and a terrible day SW tracking wise.
However, from a CC perspective I have made the right choice for Dinner. Overall for the day my calories are ok, but my Fat intake was too high.

I will make a note of this day, and learn from it in the future.
I will however take credit, as this is the first time I have been into McDonald's and not eaten 2 meals for several years! (I realise I am scrapping the barrel!)
I will also take credit for accurately reporting my food intake for the day.

(Please don't be too hard on me. My gut reaction is to hide from this site - and only report the good things - but it is important to me that I track everything properly, as I don't want to cheat myself.)

It's good. I went up 4.5lbs over 3 days - but down 0.5lb today - and think it will stabilise now before it starts to go down. Happy with that!

Hello. Thanks for reading!

Yes - I'm transitioning off Cambridge slowly - which is keep my syns high as SW doesn't like the content of Cambridge product! Over the next few weeks I'll be drinking on several occasions, so am trying to keep to a low calorie food intake consisting of one or two cambridge products with one or two SW meals each day.

It'll start getting me into the swing of SW, but will keep the calories low whilst I'm drinking. If I was 100% SW I'd have to flexi-syn the days I drink (due to the volume) which I was trying to avoid!

Sorry reading back through this thread today - it looks like I am failing at all turns (on SW, on CD and on CC). But overall hope my weight will not start to rapidly increase!

Another terrible SW day! But a good-ish CC day. I have also lost weight again. So overall ok.

Hi Janellekay,

I hope you are well -- I know how hard it is to swap around -- I had a big regain when I tried to go from CD to WW. Now, I need to try and stick with CD810 and get it back off.

Happy Sunday JK.

I hope you had a good weekend. Dh's Christmas do was last night, and now we are both back to work on our weight loss programmes!
