Soooo, week one came and went with a 1lb loss. After posting in a thread it was suggested that a food diary might help so people can suggest where I can improve etc. So here's goes as I start week 2...

So, day 9:

Breakfast
50g of bran flakes with skimmed milk (HeB and HeA) - 4.5 syns (double serving of bran flakes)

Lunch
Omelette with baby leaf spinach, half an onion and mushrooms

Tea
Sweet potato syn free fries

Snacks
Cupshot chicken flavour (Aldi) - syn free
2 clementines
1 apple
1 muller light yoghurt
1 aldi yoghurt
1 peroni beer - 7 syns
Dolce gusto skinny capuccino with 1 sugar - 3.5 syns

TOTAL SYNS: 15 syns

So, how did I do? Any help / advice appreciated :)
 
Here I am to sub :)

Hex's have changed since last time I was on sw and I'm not sure if you're looking at the old ones but it's now 35g of bran flakes for a heb so the extra is only 2 syns (4syns per 25g) :)

Also I'm not sure if you're syns are right for the peroni as it's coming up at 6.5 syns unless it was peroni nastro azzurro which is 7 syns (both 330ml bottles).

Which plan do you follow? Xx

Day 10:

Breakfast:
1 harvest moon cereal bar (heb) cut into pieces, served in fat free yoghurt.

Lunch:
Sainsburys salad bar, medium, included mixed leaves, pasta in red pepper and tomato sauce (minimal), butter beans and kidney beans, pickled beetroot, boiled egg.

Tea:
6oz fillet steak (no fat)
Syn free fries
6 babycorn
Spinach leaves
Mushrooms
Lighter than light mayo- 3tbs- 1.5 syns

Snacks:
1 sugar in a tea (milk throughout day hea)
1 harvest moon bar (heb)
1 Budweiser- 6 syns
2 Muller lights
1 cupshot chicken flavour
500ml volvic touch of fruit lemon and lime water- 3 or 5 syns (calculator says 3, database says 5)
Tiny tiny bit of cake (half a mini cupcake if that!) - 3 syns (guess)

Total syns: 14.5 or 16.5


Tomorrow won't be that good because I'm working at our head office, 3 hour drive and a team meeting with lunch. Will be finger buffet food but I'll have to go with what I can. X
 
Thanks miatablue! Good news about my favourite branny flakes! 25g is really nothing. It was the peroni nastro one. I'm doing EE. I'm not an official member but that may change today. My friend is a member and she is going to log in and show me what you get x

I agree, I couldn't believe how little cereal you got last time. I'm not sure about milk but cheese has changed too. I dug out my old recipe bible which i made last time and I'm now writing it out again as the Hex's are all wrong lol.

Day 11

So, I was up at 5am, setting out to work for meeting at HQ. I took bits and bobs with me, but knew that we would have a buffet lunch.

Pleased overall but how I ate today doesn't feel like a good example of how sw and eating healthier for life should work. I need to get organised, and start cooking recipes, perhaps cooking on weekends and freezing things to use later.

Service stations are a right old pain. Although I stopped at Warwick service station and used the Drive Thru Starbucks. What a bloody brilliant idea! I resisted my usual skinny latte and had a filter coffee with skimmed milk and 2 sugars (which I'm counting as 1, because the sugar packs you get are not 1 teaspoon!). But on the way back from home, about 4pm I guess I was starving so pulled up at service station. Ignored the fast food places and headed into waitrose thinking I'll be able to get something good and use my slimming world app now that I've joined. Although they are all marked up as being good to yourself/ healthy, they really aren't. I didn't want to waste 11 syns on.a salad I like (chicken,tomato and basil), so I searched for Muller or fat free yoghurt. None. Got so fed up, I ended up with this for my lunch (see pic).

Also experiencing bloating and... gas. Think it's all the fruit and fibre! That needs to improve!

Enough, so here is what I've had today

Breakfast
2 aldi harvest moon cereal bars (heb)
Filter coffee with skimmed milk (hea throughout day) and 2 mini sugar pack things- 1 syn.

Lunch
1 triangle ham sandwich, half of 1 slice of wholemeal bread- 1.5 syns
1triangle hard boiled egg sandwich, half of 1 slice of white bread- 1.5 syns
120g pack of chicken slices

Tea
4 quorn sausages

Snacks
1 Apple
1 pack of snack size aldi grapes
2 teas with 1 sugar in each- 2 syns
Some natural yoghurt
2 Aldi savour wheat crackers with chive and onion cottage cheese on top- 2 syns
Small piece of sponge cake- 3 syns (book says 4 syns for 25g sponge cake with jam. There was no Jan, hence 3 syns)
Milk delight chocolate- 5 syns

TOTAL SYNS: 16

Good news is I resisted the sausage rolls, chocolate bars, crisps and muffins that came with lunch: )

It's amazing how much of the 'healthy' food isn't really that healthy. I made that mistake with a pack of those belvita breakfast biscuits, I had a pack of the yogurt ones thinking they were healthy and maybe even a heb, they were 11 syns for a 2 biscuit pack! Lol xx

Curry cooked by other half- diced chicken, tinned tomato, 1 onion, mushrooms, 1 green chilli, spring onions
2 weight watchers tortilla wrap- 10syns

Snacks
Grapes snack pack
2 strawberries

1 sugar- 1syn
Harvest moon cereal bar (2nd one, heb)

Day 13

Chicken curry from last night (tomatoes, spring onion, onion, green chilli, mushrooms)

Tea
Syn free chips (mixed Maris piper and sweet potato)

Snacks
1 Apple

2 teas with 1 sugar in each- 2syns
5 savoury crackers (3 with chive and onion low fat cottage cheese) - 3 syns
2 Muller lights
Chicken breast slices (applebys syn free)

Home-made salad! Very impressed with myself. Discovered how much I love beetroot this week, so made a salad which had spinach leaves, mixed leaves, chopped pickled beetroot, chopped babycorn and chopped chicken pieces. Was yummy and syn free!

Tea
Beef chow mein (yes, a take away!) - 8.5 syns but had a few chips and a tiny slither of curry sauce so will count as 12.5 Syns.

Snacks
2 muller lights
1 apple
1 harvest moon cereal bar (heb)
1 sugar in coffee - 1 syn
1 humbug - 1.5 syns
milk (hea)
Shandy made from half a Budweiser- 3 syns

TOTAL SYNS: 17.5 - but could be more as I don't really know how the chow mein was cooked, and the points system for takeaways seems vague. Chicken chow mein for example is double the beef chowmein, at 16 syns.

Very proud of my home made salad though because I actually enjoyed it! Who knew pickled beetroot was so nice. Big thumbs up to Sainsbury's salad bar, because that's where I discovered my love for them!

Weigh in tomorrow. Perhaps a chinese the night before was not a great idea. But then I think if this is for life, and about changing my eating habits then I'm going to have a chinese once in a while!

Day 16

A 0.2lb loss has not deterred me from sw! Drank lots of water today so hopefully the effects of the takeaway may show a difference in the scales tomorrow.

My new favourite salad: chicken slices, beetroot, babycorn, mixed leaves, salad leaves.

I'm running an event at a hotel tomorrow, so will be off plan but will be sensible. Same goes for Thursday except I'm attending an event. And a hen do on the weekend. Lord help me!
