Before and during - so far so good.

One day at a time
I started my weight lost in Jan'11 after seeing a picture from a works party (taken Nov'10) a friend of mine added it to facebook and i was mortified. i was nearly twice the size of my work friends..

I always knew i was big, but never that big. I decided like alot of other people that i was going to make a change the following year.

I made this picture in Nov'11 to celebrate a year of change. I use this picture as motivation to stop me from going back to my old ways and i have lost more since that last picture was taken.

I am far from my goal weight and plan on being there (or nearly there) by xmas '12.

Good luck to you all on your weight loss journey ..

you can do it, one day at a time :D

A huge well done!

Absolutely amazing... well done!

You look great...well done!!

Thanks guys, i made the pic for motivation after a chat with my family about 'how well you've done, omg, you've lost lost *so and so* in weight.. so bored one night i googled pics using just my weight loss, had to use kg and lbs (6 1/2 stones is just super model type women) and i was shocked to see what i had lost.

I'm more determined to keep it off, anyone can say oh i lost 'X' amount and put it back on because of 'Y' and 'Z'.. but when you know you have lost the weight of a petrol lawn mower, it's more then just a number.. makes you wonder what icould loose in total.. right now i have lost just over 7 stone or 100Lbs *woohoo :p * so thats about the weight of an photocopier. probably post more pics in the future. thanks for all your kind words to help motivate me.. you can do it too, take each day as it comes and keep moving forward :D

Fantastic, good to keep the photos as a reminder what your not going back to - you look so different and an inspiration Ive joined 3wks ago and got to lose 7stone min, slowly is the way to go for sure. good luck with your journey x

i think going slow is the best way to do it.. i've heard stories of people that loose weight in a short time putit back on.

it's taken me my whole life to put get that big, and now i'm going to take the rest of it, keeping it off :D.

one day at a time, thats my new motto

Well done! Funny enough - I was googling pictures of the weight I need to lose today and kept looking at the huge fish! Glad to see you're still so positive :)

Massive congratulations (On losing a record-breaking fish! lol (Amongst other things!) I loved your pic sooo much!Think I'll make one too, (although have thus far only lost a stone or so :-/ )

I made a collage of pics that keep me motivated, i call it my 'Thinspiration' :p

Xx

Well Done Malcolm -D. I think it is a great idea to have an ongoing record of what you have achieved so far. Your pics show how weight loss really shows in the face. I am inspired !

I think it's good to look back on old photos and see where you were before. People used to come up to me in work (or friends) and say i had lost weight, but i couldn't see it.. I guess it's down to seeing the same face everyday in the mirror and not seeing a change.

Besides my clothes becoming looser i wasn't aware of anything changing, so i would feel that nothing was happening and at times i thought about just giving up and grabbing for the nearest junk food just to make myself feel 'happy' but i realised that when i was eating that crap food i would only be happy for a while. So i started looking at the pics of where i was and am now and i can see it, i have a chin and i'm starting to grow a jaw line.. i can buy clothes from any supermarket (some high street shops are still a work in progress) and i don't have to order them off the net and pray that they fit or go to a specialist store and pay three times the price for the larger stuff.

I think thats the true inspiration in weight loss, what 'you' have done. how 'you' achieved it. Not seeing someone else do it.. why climb a mountain when someone else has already done it, because you can.. because you want to, you need to. Go and climb your own mountain, it'll be hard and you might slip down now and again, but never give up. One step at a time, you'll get there one day.

Each of us on this site know the struggles; physical, mental or emotional.. you might not get to a goal in a month or a even a years time but you will get there with the support of your family, sw group or the people on this site. Never set yourself a final goal, just pick your next one, and then your next.

It doesn't matter how much you have lost, just that you have lost something and keep going in that direction. you might not see a change but you will notice a difference, mine was not feeling tired all the time, i can now run upstairs and not feel like i'm having a heart or asthma attack. i can run around after my cousins kids and play football with them.

For the first time in my adult life, i am actually happy and not just putting on a show. Thats the secret to weight loss in my opinion.. honesty, be honest with yourself.

Find a motto or a saying and repeat it to yourself. mines ''Change your thoughts and you change your world.''

You can do it ladies and gents

Don't stop inspiring yourself

Malc-D xx
