Tell me about it! I have 3 adopted cats that were just dumped in the streets.
2 we got as 8 month old kittens from a rescue. They were thrown in a dumpster with their 4 siblings.
They both have deformities (very short "broken" tails) and no one else wnated the.
We've had them now for 5½ years and they are adorable.
Our latest we found by the bar last September. She'd been dumped in the village at 6-7 months old and already pregnant. So sweet and so friendly.
So I just scooped her up and took her home. She was covered in engine oil from living under a car. So she had a bath.
Have you ever tried to wash a cat? Don't bother. It took 2 of us to hold her down!
The older 2 are joined at the hip almost. Never do anything on their own and do everything together all the time.
They bully our new baby cat unmercifully. She spent 3 months living in the house with her own litter tray and she wouldn't come out at all and if they got in there was lots of fur flying.
I finally moved her out of the house after Xmas and she is now living in the kitchen (strange old Spanish house - where our kitchen is the opposite side of the courtyard from the main building). When she tries to use the litter tray in the garage there are still some hisses and they try to "inspect" what she is doing and she doesn't like that all. Mind you, at least the fur removals are now almost nil and in the last 2-3 weeks she has started to venture into the courtyard occasionally. She's been with us 6 months now!
Poor baby.
Lots of piccies of them here. As you can see - I adore my cats
