Try and try again
I'm on a fishy week so trying some new recipes as I don't usually eat a lot of fish. So I'll share any successes I have!
Chinese Tuna & Noodles
Serves 2 / 2.5syns per portion on EE
Ingredients:
2 Tuna Steaks
2 blocks noodles
1 garlic clove - crushed
Thumb size piece of ginger - grated or chopped
1 small chilli - deseeded and sliced
Handful Baby corn - sliced
Handful of Mushrooms - sliced
Marinade:
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil - 2syns
1 crushed garlic clove
Thumb size piece of ginger - grated or chopped
Small chilli - deseeded and sliced
Sauce:
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil - 2 syns
1 tsp honey - 1 syn
1 tsp Chinese 5 spice
Mix the marinade ingredients together and rub into the tuna steaks. Allow to sit in the fridge for at least an hour. I left mine for 3.
Cook the noodles - drain off and refresh under cold water.
Once marinaded cook the tuna steaks on a very hot griddle until cooked to taste. I cooked for 1 min on each side for rare. Allow to rest for a minute before slicing.
For the noodles - stir fry the garlic, ginger and chilli. Add the veggies (and whatever veggies you want to throw in), then once cooked throw in the noodles, and the sauce ingredients. Toss together and split onto 2 plates topped with the sliced tuna.
Sprinkle sliced spring onion tops on top. Would also be good with some synned sesame seeds sprinkled on top too.
