Hi Everyone!
What a lovely Forum this seems and I can't wait to be part of it!
I joined Slimming World in February but have not really put my all into learning the plan etc but these past few weeks have been really uplifting for me and I have felt really motivated! So here I go on the real journey to becoming 4 stone lighter!

I have lost 1 Stone so far and have been going to class, although I have missed some classes here and there, especially over the easter as got disheartened with an unexpected gain at first and then I went a bit carefree over the Easter hols and gained 2 more lbs over a few weeks but its been a few weeks of being really careful now so I am starting to get back into it again properly.

Well I say back into it again properly but havn't been as strict with the syn values of things as I could be so this is where I need to educate myself to make sure I am checking the syn values properly and not just "estimating", especially for sauces and any low fat butter I use!
I use my syns on things like pasta sauces and a little butter with my toast etc so its something I really do need to keep an eye on.

Ok so I am 3 more stone away from my goal weight and although it seems a long way off, as long as I have a loss it can only mean a good thing and a loss is closer to my goal weight so I will have to be greatful with anything I achieve! :)
I have also found myself putting more on my plate such as pasta and rice "because its free" and filling myself up, perhaps a little too full to stop me feeling hungry and picking as I do tend to get the Munchies quite a bit (hence the name!) and then graze more foods haha! But I feel I'm actually overfilling my plate with the free foods and should still be sensible on how much I'm consuming! But I have found that whilst following the SW plan I have been getting VERY hungry in between meals, even a large meal that I havn't long eaten! Also I used to drink alot of fluids and now its alot harder to drink more fluids now, whereas before it was never an issue and I always had way over my 8 glasses of water and now I'm struggling to meet my 8 glasses a day and remember to drink often!

Sorry I am rambling on but I have so many questions and things to share with you all that its coming out in a big big post! lol.. So maybe i'll take a step back and choose the relevant sections to ask for advice :) x

As money is a bit short at the moment, I'm going to go it alone for a while without going to class as its just costing a bit much every month and I really do notice it adding up and from the looks of it you all have fab advice and information and support on here so I have a feeling I'll still get through this journey despite not going to class as often at the moment/or at all! As long as I stick to it! x

I am on the Extra Easy plan and have not long started to eat chicken again as I did go through a stage of 2 years without eating any meat but just fish but have since gone back to the chicken and occasional ham slice but think my diet will be just chicken and quorne mainly. Thanks in advance for all who help me on my journey to a slimmer, healthier Me!

Yay, welcome :)

I go to class and stay to class as I'm definately far to weak willed but I'm sure you will do great from home and I will totally be here to make sure your accountable and not let you fail!

Thanks MissMunky! :) I Definitely need all the support haha! Most definitely with the plan to make sure I am doing things right and Its also great to have others who understand how hard this is going to be but I'm so determined to give it my all and from your diary I am glad you are motivated too! Now we have to stick with it and hold onto those vibes and that means alot of self discipline!:whip:

Ok so the start of my weight loss journey really began in Feb 2012!

I am sure everyone here has once come to a point where they are eating "Just for the sake of it" or not really enjoying their plate of chips but they are there so what the heck!!...

For me, Eating "the Slimming World way" for only a short time I see treats really as treats now!! That little humbug sweet or a highlights choc is now appreciated so much more than it ever used to if I am completely honest with myself.!!

They say you only really miss something once its gone and that is so true!! Except I won't be missing it forever, just controlling myself so that my body doesn't have too much of a wrong thing and become unhealthy.

I am always saying "I would do anything to be slim" but really I wasn't doing "anything" to be slim.. Your body has a way of fluctuating your bodyweight usually based on your actions.. So if you are feeding your body the wrong foods it isn't helping to be who you want to be!

So by all of us here getting on the right track with Slimming World and acknowledging we need to give our bodies some TLC and really strart remoulding it, we WILL see the benefits eventually if we stick at it and I hope to be able to say I DID IT, I'M AT TARGET!!!

We can take this chance to make that change we have wanted for so long and our bodies are amazing at how they change, we just need to do the right things to see the changes we want!

Its going to take some time but every 1lb we see coming off should be such an achievement as it is a step in the RIGHT direction and you are doing what your body agrees with and every lb off is a lb closer to that slim new YOU!

Good luck everyone and remember, if you really would do anything to be slim.. you can.. stick to the plan!!!! :)

Loved you're motivational speech - as I said to you before I don't care how long it takes me if I'm even 1/2 a lb lighter each month then I'm happy. It is such an amazing changes we're making and our lives will be completely changed forever.

The way I ate before was disgusting, when I think back at what I ate and the quanaties I feel physically sick with myself. I've lost a few stone with slimming world and have now restarted a few weeks back even while being on plan I feel great and I havent really lost all that much - I love how being healthy improves my moods, physical activity and my body.

Yay for making small changes to improve or quality if life!

Well I have just had my eggs, mash, beans, mushrooms and a little fruit for afters and will have a toffee muller light a little later. I am feeling alot more full than I usually do and have noticed you have been too so I hope it lasts !! Although its still early on and anything could change by later tonight! lol..

I have weigh in tomorrow and I am just hoping everything goes ok and I see a loss on the scales! It might be a few weeks before I can weigh again at SW or for a while now but I will be investing in a good set of scales, can anyone recommend some?

Also plan on finally doing the meal plans tonight !:rolleyes:

Thanks to you both!!! I will say that now I am feeling more peckish and I have already had my Muller Light so now I am just trying to try to avoid anymore food as just had a banana about an hr ago but still don't feel satisfied! lol
Its like I am feeding a gremlin in my belly before me and hes not letting me have any! haha! .. Strange as never felt true hunger before (Well I had forgotten when I have really felt hungry!).. and now I get confused about what my belly twinges are saying.??!! Feels like I'm far more hungry alot more of the time while being on the plan?! Has anyone else felt this? I have noticed I need to drink a little more as sometimes thirst can be mistaken for hunger but even despite when I have eaten and drank, sometimes my body tells me it isn't enough when surely it is! I will be doing a food diary on here in the next few days so people might be able to pick up where I might be going wrong? x

Hmmm I think that sometimes as you say hunger can be mistaking for thirst but also for cravings - that is why I always need a naughty feeling snack at night tonight I had a curly wurly and velvet crunch crisps - I weigh in tomorrow night and now that this will be my 4th week on sw I find that the hunger cravings/not being satisfied have diminishes. They were at their worse in the 3rd week. Just remember you have all that free food and it's their to be used :)
 
Hey hun :) I do worry about the free food allowance though as I have read that you have to be careful on how much free food you eat as overeating on the free food can actually cause you to put on, despite my consultant telling me I could stuff myself to the brim! (Which I don't do usually anymore lol) but I really do think I am trying to re train my brain to work out when I'm full and when I'm hungry as I don't think It knows anymore! lol.. Like I will often have a pang in my gut now which says.. ok wheres the grub! Yet at meal times I am having a healthy portion size (maybe even a slightly bit over!) and I do snack on fruit in the day and make sure im filling my plate with my superfree foods too! I will have to start writing down a food diary for sure!

Today I had :
Breakfast : 2 slices of Hovis Nimble 400g loaf (HEX B) with marmite + a tsp flora light (1 syn) 1 banana, handful grapes.
Lunch : Mug shot sweet and sour, muller light toffee yog, Large handful grapes.
Dinner : 2 eggs , mash mixed with 1 tbsp butter (2 1/2 syns) and splash semi skimmed milk (part of HEX A) mushrooms and beans, with 5 strawberries.
Mini snacks: 1 humbug (1 1/2 syns) , 1 smartie (I'll count as 1, not sure how many it would count as! lol) 2 gherkins, 1 more banana! I had 3 cups of coffee with Semi Skimmed milk.( other part of HEX A)
Total syns : 6
 
Sound like a great wee day all round :)

Today is weigh in day for you and me, got my fingers crossed for us both! I feel good, so I'm hoping the scales are kind!

:party0011:YAY!! :party0011:A lovely loss for me today and I have a big fat grin on my face, despite missing weigh in last week I went today and have lost 5lbs!!!! I am now in the 12's and so happy to be there! I am so happy with myself as thats a nice 2 1/2lbs per week which for me is great as I am not one for losing big amounts at all at the moment! 1lb away for club 10! So hopefully by next week I'll be there! :D

Ok so far today has been :
Breakfast very late though because of WI tut tut lol: Mug shot sweet and sour and a big bowl of salad (apple cubes, strawberries, grapes)
Lunch will be: 4 crabsticks, 2 Alpen bars(HEX B), muller light and a banana. (Although I'm more hungry in the evenings so I might leave one of the Alpen bars then if I'm still a little full from late brekky lol )
Dinner: J potato with beans, 1 tsp flora light (2 1/2 syns) with mushrooms and perhaps some side salad if I am feeling hungry and a muller light for pudding.
Snacks: 2 humbugs for later (3 syns) , Highlights hot choc tonight (2 syns),
Will use semi skimmed milk in my highlights choc and a few coffees (HEX A)
Total syns : 7 1/2

For the first time in a while I am not forcing myself to stay within my syns as I have been, up until now, trying not to go over them!! I am comfortable with what I have to eat today and I'm confident I will stick with it :) But I know I have a few little syns I can have if I get extra peckish tonight.. sorted!
I hope this good feeling attitude lasts as I am feeling good about my choices at the moment! :D I feel that I don't want the higher syn opitons at the moment as I'd far rather use them little and often than have 1 thing with a big syn that stops me from having anything else! (Of course this may change on special occasions when there is lots of cake, nibbles etc about lol!) but at the moment I am resisting all temptation and one bday has been and I had not one slice of cake!! To me cake is my version of heaven so I was very good ! lol x

Lost 5lb so very chuffed!! I missed weigh in last week and usually I don't get such big losses but I was gobsmacked! lol :) One happy girly! lol, How are you getting on? I must see if you have a diary to have a nose on ;) x
 
woohoo, congrats on your loss that is amazing!!! Well done! *does a happy dance*. I'm so excited that your only 1lb from your club 10 - you will totally smash that this week :)

Well I've finished work so popping off here to drive round to the house for some soup before I need to pick up the child from school :)

Thank you! :D I am feeling really upbeat at the moment so I'm hoping it lasts! I wish you could bottle the stuff when your this happy and have a sniff when your feeling blehhh! lol..

Aww have a good rest of the day! I have one of my boys off school as hes been coughing and spluttering all night and on and off in the day so hoping it doesn't last long as we all didn't get much sleep last night x Bless him though I hate getting an irritating cough! .I go later to pick his twin bro up but it will be a few hours or so yet as he has music club and letting loose on the drums! haha!!
Hows olds your littl'n, mine are 6 now going on 16 I swear! lol..
 
She is 7, will be 8 at the end of the year. It definately goes quick especially once they start school, she is going into p4 in August it totally freaks me out.. I really don't want her to become an evil teen, I'm quite happy for her to stay 7 forever lol

Twin boys they definitely must keep you on your toes! Shame one.isn't feeling great - are they identical?

Yep me too I just need to keep the momentum going, I have been so heavy since I stopped smoking the first time around 4 years ago, found a photo of me from my 21st and I'm a lovely curvy size 12 - I need to do it this time around, I'm soo fed up of being big and feeling like a baloon lol We will do it though I'm sooo determined this time and I'm happy for it to take me aslong as it takes, I'm not giving in!!
