Hiya :)

I’m Emma, I’m 24 years old, and I started my Slimming World journey in September 2012. I’ve been a member on Mini’s since August but never really thought of writing a diary until now.

Before I joined SW my meals consisted of convenience food such as microwave meals, takeaways and snacks of every kind you can think of.
My lifestyle has changed completely, rather than going into the freezer for some processed food and having it with oven chips every night, I actually enjoy cooking recipes from scratch and have come to realise that I am the only one that can do this! I have had a few ups and downs but who doesn’t?

Up until last week I had never done a single minute of Body Magic - It still amazes me how you can lose weight without excerise. But I finally realised that I need to do tone up my wobbly & jiggly bits. I started swimming last week which I plan to do twice a week on Tuesday & Friday nights, and I also started Moky, which I plan to do every Wednesday night.

So far I’ve lost 5st 1½ lbs, but I still have a few stone to lose until I’ll feel ‘comfortable’ in my skin.

Few facts:
Start weight:
18st 7½lbs
Start size: 24 (Work trousers)
Current weight: 10st 7lbs
Current size: 12 (Work trousers)
Weigh In Day: Tuesdays

I’ve read so many stories on here that have inspired me sooo much! I just hope I can do the same and meet some great people along the way :)

Dinner:
Leftover rice dish from last night (Rice, soy sauce, spring onions, peas, carrots & sweetcorn) with chopped carrots, followed by a Vanilla WW yogurt.

HExA - 30g Cheese
HExB - 1x Weetabix Oaty Bar

Aww I love the fact you've started a diary. Those before and after pics are awesome, you look beautiful in all your pictures but you look so happy in that last one with your little niece, and what a great figure you've got now too!

Good luck for WI tonight! Got my fingers crossed for you! x

Hi Emma.... great start to your diary x

Well I lost 0.5lbs tonight, which I'm ok about seen as though I started exercising last week, and they say it takes a while for the pounds to come off whilst exercising, yeah?

Anywho I took my measurements last week before my first swimming & Moky class so I will monitor inches aswell as pounds!

After class I'm going swimming at 7pm for an hour, so I'm aiming to do 55 lengths (I done 52 lengths last week so trying to beat that!) Just had my Weetabix Oaty bar and an apple to tie me over until tea time.

Here's to a good week! :D

Hello here to subscribe well done on starting a diary I find it worthwhile also well done on your progress so far and your pictures are great

Look forward to following your journey

Here to subscribe and say you've come so far! Way to go!

Hey, hey, thanks for popping by to you both :)

Just got back from swimming and I swam 56 lengths! Oh yeahhh! Realised I couldn't stick to 55 because that would've meant;
A) Finishing on an odd number
and more importantly
B.) Getting out at the shallow end where there's no ladders!!

I have no upper body strength at all, so it would be highly amusing for onlookers watching me try and lift myself out of the pool... One day. Maybe!

Off to make some tea now, had the jacket potato in the oven for just over an hour so it'll be really crispy, nom nom!

Oh I also popped into Aldi before swimming and bought the Dairyfine Bubble Minis (4 syns each) hoping they're as nice as the Aero ones! Will update after tea :)

Yey, well done on your loss and the big swim. I find the same thing on exercise weeks, tbh it kinds demotivated me a bit but it's not meant to last forever, in a few weeks hopefully you'll be having even bigger losses than normal. Speaking of exercise I really need to get back into it too! xx

Good morning diary :)

Well the Aldi Bubble Mini's that I bought last night aren't worth 4 syns in my opinion, they're really not chocolatey at all, which is a shame, so I will be giving them away to my Dad &/or my other half later on I think.

My whole body is aching from swimming last night, no pain no gain eh? I'm going to try and up my water intake this week, I've read somewhere that it's supposed to help when you're exercising?

Busy day at work today then I'm off to Moky class tonight at 6:30pm for an hour, and I'm looking forward to it! I really enjoyed it last week, it's so energetic and fun. It uses all your muscles and you never stop moving which is great for my jiggly areas, haha!

So todays food is looking like this...

Breakfast:
1x WW Toffee yogurt, raspberries, a tangerine & a cup of green tea

Mid morning Snack:
1x Rocky Road Hi-Fi bar (½ HExB) & a cup of green tea

Dinner:
Tomato & Herb mugshot with chopped carrots with chopped carrots, followed by melon covered in WW Vanilla yogurt.

Tea:
Batchelors Pasta 'N' sauce - Cheese, Leek & Ham (1 syn) with spring onions & tuna mixed in topped with grated cheese (HExA), alongside green beans, carrots, peas & sweetcorn.

HExA - 30g Cheese
HExB - 2x Rocky Road Hi-Fi Bars

Snacks:
1x Rocky Road Hi-Fi Bar (½ HExB)
1x 25g piece of cake!!!! (5 syns)

Total syns: 6 syns

Weekly syns: 15/105

Hello lovely! Just popping by to subscribe.

Well done on the loss this week! And also on your swimming. You have encouraged me to take up body magic again - I think I will have a look when I get home tonight and see what there is I could do on my free nights. I don't think I'll have the time to do it as often as I used to but hey, every little helps right?!

Heres to a great week hun x

Hi Emma

Thanks for subscribing to my new diary, I am here to subscribe to yours too!

And by the way, Wow! you have done so well, you must be so proud of yourself :)

Ok so on Friday I’m going to a concert called Metro Radio Live, where around 10 pop acts get together for a yearly concert @ The Metro Radio Arena in the North East with friends, which is about 100 miles away from where I live. And because we class it as a road trip, we usually ‘pig out’ on sweets, chocolate, crisps on the journey there and back, and normally end up going to McDonalds for some tea – It’s just a thing we’ve always done.

So whilst I’ve been munching away on my afternoon snack of vanilla yoghurt & melon, I decided to work out how many syns I would ‘need’ so that I didn’t go over my syn allowance for the week.

I will be taking apples, bananas & tangerines along with sweet things such as;

- Flumps (1.5 syn)
- Natural confectionary Jelly snakes 25g (4 syns)
- Baked star crisps (4.5 syns)
- 2x Hi-Fi bars (HExB)

Oh and IF we do go to McDonalds I'm allowing myself a box of 6 Chicken Nuggets (9 syns) or if I don't fancy that then I will just have a grilled chicken & bacon salad (1 syn)

I’m going to do weekly syns this week and ‘save’ 35 syns for Friday. I know this will be more than enough but if I fancy anything else then I'm prepared... It’s better to overestimate isn’t it?

Weekly syns so far: 15/105

It's great you've planned it all out so well for Friday. Takes all the worry out of it now as you know you can have a great time without blowing the diet. I never knew 6 nuggets at Maccys was only 9 syns, will have to remember that for the next time I go! I think weekly syns is a great idea, think I'm going to go down that route starting from when I get back off hols!

Oh and yeah, drinking lots of water when you up exercise is good as I've read when our muscles get strained and repair themselves they hold onto more water. Drinking more helps flush it out basically so you don't retain as much water weight. Try not to get too disheartened over these next few weeks though if you don't lose loads, I bet the inches will be a lot more noticeable xx

Good morning everyone,

How is everyone today?

Last night I had a terrible sweet tooth craving, and I allowed myself some cake from my Nieces Christening!!! I actually can't remember the last time I had cake as I thought it was full of syns, however... I looked on the SW website at generic birthday cake syn values and I found this;

cake.PNG

So I got the scales out and cut a 25g piece, removed the icing and consumed it in one go! OMG it was soooooo gorgeous, and definitely worth the 5 syns that I counted for it (Rounded it up even though I didn't have the icing).

Moky was great last night, I was so sweaty afterwards so it really felt like a good workout! (BCP - Moky is quite like Zumba, it's a dance workout that you do routines to with music)

Tonight I'm having a night off from exericse, so this is what my food is looking like for today.

Breakfast:
1x WW Toffee yogurt, raspberries, a tangerine & a cup of green tea

Mid morning Snack:
Banana & a cup of green tea

Dinner:
Homemade veg soup that my Dad made last night (Leeks, potatoes, carrots, onions & stock) with chopped carrots.

Afternoon snack: Melon covered in WW Vanilla yogurt.

Tea:
Homemade veg soup (Leeks, potatoes, carrots, onions & stock) with chopped carrots, & a cheese roll (30g cheddar (HexA) & a 60g wholemeal roll (HExB) )

HExA
- 30g Cheese
HExB - 60g Wholemeal roll

Evening snack:
1x Rocky Road Hi-Fi bar (3 syns)

Total syns: 3
Weekly syns: 18/105
