NSVs - Non Scale Victories

Just nipped down to the corner shop to get some basics and the lovely lady in there said 'wow, aren't you losing some weight!' - I'm beaming from ear to ear!

NSVs (non scale victories) are such a valued part of our journey that I think we should all start celebrating them! Maybe one of our lovely Mods may make this thread a sticky so we can all share our wonderful NSVs!

Remember, whilst we all love to see the numbers on the scales dropping down, sometimes the little things, the NSVs, make our journey all the more the worthwhile too xxx

I went back to my CBT counsellor after over a month between the first and 2nd sessions (holidays and uni stuff from both of us in the way!) and the first thing she said was "You look so well" and then quite shyly asked if I had lost some weight. I had only met this lady once before and she noticed

Awww, bet you were both dead chuffed with yourselves!

My NSV was going to get a pair of jeans the other days and fitting into a size 18!!! I haven't managed to fit into a size 18 pair of jeans since I was in school (about 8 years ago!)

I fit into a size 18 shirt in New Look the other week and I was SO chuffed!! I didn't buy it, but it was a great moment

I put on some jeans on Saturday night and closed them up no problem, I didn't even need to lie on the bed... even after only losing 4lbs!! I guess my gym trips are paying off. It certainly is what encouraged me to crawl out of bed at 6.15 this morning to do a circuit class at 7!!

I was working on Friday night and the husband of the family didnt recognise me, I had to show him my ID. He couldnt believe it was me!

I teach dancing on a saturday and quite a few of the parents are now asking me for my secrets!

I tell them Slimming World!

It does give you a warm feeling inside and makes me more determined to get to target!

I LOVE that!!!! Utterly fantastic- you are literally a new woman!

My latest NSV was when chatting about diets last week to someone I had only just met and they said- "you look so naturally slim I bet you've never had to diet" I nearly choked (and so did they when I let them know the truth!)

Just been chatting to my gardiner as I took him out some tea. He just said that he was expecting to see a large lady because of my nick name "plum" not some skinny lady.

As you can imagine, I am now beaming from ear to ear...lol

I've only been following SW for three weeks & so far as i'm pregnant i'm not expecting any huge scale victories anyway - staying the same is great for me, but my main NSV so far is the fact that my skin has gone from looking greasy and spotty to looking fresh and clear - the bags under my eyes have even gotten better! I'm a happy bunny.

so it's made me think I may have to 'fess up sooner rather than later. I could just put it down to stress

Instead of fessing up i'd just say 'oh i hadn't noticed but thanks' and shrug it off while jumping up and down inside!!
