Converted from WW to Slimming World!!

Hi everyone :)
I've just converted from being an avid WW follower to following Slimming World, on day 4 and so far seems all good, have been having Green Days and enjoying the freedom of Free Food which is such a change to pointing everything (going to take a little getting used to though)!!
Anyone else out there changed and how was your success??

I changed from WW to SW. Not because the diet didn't work but because the class was in a better day/place so worth a try. I love the SW class I go to.

Until June this year, I have successfully lost weight with WW three times, however, the last time I really struggled, when I decided I needed to lose weight once and for all, I discovered the Extra Easy plan on SW and gave it a try, I've lost 24.5lbs in 9 weeks, its a plan that fits with all the family, helps that hubby is doing it too, nothing like a bit of healthy competition! Good luck, once you stop thinking points, it becomes much much much easier, donna x

Hiya MookyMooks I was always a WW girl and nothing would turn me..... even the fact that I was starving and not losing cos I kept falling of the yellow brick road :break_diet: I hated SW and I loved WW :worthy: I kept on telling myself I could do WW at home cos I knew how.

Even after I gained a couple of stone I still didn't want to listen to what one of the mums at the school was saying about ALL THE FOOD YOU COULD EAT and that YOU NEVER HAD TO BE HUNGRY.

Even after she had lost 4 stone and her husband bought her a PORSHE for her god damn birthday :jelous: I wouldn't listen....... cos I'm an Aries and I KNOW BEST :kissass:

Why did no one tell me before..... :ashamed0005:  I don't have to be hungry...... I can eat food..... and lose weight..... now I'm going around telling everyone..... including the tesco checkout lady and the lady in the opticians..... now how embarrassing is that!!!! x

I went to WW a few years back and lost 3 1/2 stone in about 6 months. I was proud of myself at the time as I endured hunger and many early nights (to combat the hunger). I had weeks when I gained as I felt so hungry & gave in, leading to a binge!
I always looked at Slimming World as it was in the press a lot but could not get my head round green and red days!
I left WW due to financial and employment issues and never went back, consequently putting the weight I lost and then some back on!
I joined SW with a friend having once again seen it in the press and reading the magazine in the doctors waiting room. Something clicked that time and I joined!
That 3 1/2 stone I lost in 6 months at WW...
nearly 2 stone in 10 weeks! & I'm hardly ever hungry - except when I know I'm about to start cooking a lush EE meal!

Hehe! You remind me of me (including the Aries bit!!) I've been telling everyone too, it sounds cheesey but it really does make you want to gather everyone in the world together and tell them the secret!! That they really don't have to go hungry or be a slave to counting in order to lose weight!! I think they're fed up of me and my high horse in work!!LOLX

Ahh but to be fair a lot of people dont see counting points as a chore ;) and really theres no need to be hungry on any diet if you do it properly and plan well :)

I know, I do realise that and didn't mean to offend! When I wrote that I actually had in mind friends of mine who strictly calorie-count and are complete slaves to it! I lost 4 stone a few years ago on WW and absolutely loved it at the time and thrived on counting points as it made me feel completely in control which was what I wanted! But a year after reaching goal I eventually got fed up of counting, felt disheartened and felt I couldn't sustain doing it forever (this is PURELY a personal thing and I'm sure many many WW followers maintain their losses for life)! I feel that for me I can carry on eating like this forever because of the freedom, but I think this is just a personality thing (and who's to say I won't one day pile the weight back on!! I sincerely hope not and am determined to keep up this way of life!) WW is also a fantastic plan but I just don't think it's for me long-term!x

High Five Funcurls!!:woohoo: xx

I used to do WW and I lost my baby weight doing their diet.

Fast forward a few years and joined again. During this time my mum joined SW and we would have a fair few discussions about both plans, I just couldn't get my head around SW at all. I would look at the foods she was buying and couldn't believe how many points she was consuming BUT was still losing weight AND more than me

I gave up WW and after a break decided to join SW last September. As first feared I couldn't stop thinking about points and how I could eat as much fruit as I wanted for free!!

Once Christmas arrived I had lost about a stone but never returned as the consultant had her "clique" and wasn't very inspiring or wasn't helping when I was struggling.

By March I re-joined another class after gaining 1/2 stone :sigh: The consultant at my new class is totally the opposite, she understood that I was finding it difficult to "forget points" and is very encouraging. I had to re-train my way of thinking with food on the SW plan and I now LOVE IT :D

With WW you can eat a lot of processed/ready meals and fill up with veggies BUT with SW you can cook from scratch which my family and I prefer and is much healthier.

So you could say I am converted :party0011:

I've always been a WW kinda girl, although have played around with other diets, Atkins, Cambridge, SFast, egg and grapefruit, cabbage soup, who remembers the cabbage soup, ewwww, anyway, back on track Pammyd, I also tried SW years ago but thought all of them where unmanageable as they were restrictive, whereas WW wasn't, so long as it was in you point allowance, problem is, my point allowance was never as many as my food allowance required:eek:. I can't say I've had fab losses with SW, but after being honest with myself, its 'cos I don't follow it, I now am and am hoping for great things :D. The guys and gals on here are having fab losses, so the plan works! and you should never be hungry, bonus.

hehe - that made me giggle

Yep, also a WW girl up till recently, I just couldn't do the counting anymore, and I lost a couple of pounds, and gained them again etc.

I find that SW fits in better with my family life as well, I just cook a meal and instead of having to weigh out my potatoes and meat or cook separately, I just fill my plate, a bit of extra veg. And I don't feel hungry which is important to me with having to lose so much weight. With WW it was constantly on my mind, what can I have, how many points etc. And you don't have to point fruit on SW which is brilliant.

I do like the WW classes better though, but that is a personal thing I suppose.

Good luck hun and here is to fabulous losses with plenty to eat.

I totally ditto that..... all that clapping:0clapper:makes my hands hurt (we have a big group over 40!!!! and LOADS stay) But still.... its exercise for the bingo wings :D xx

I've done weight watchers before, and it's been okay, but I get obsessed with food, and it's not terribly healthy (all food is equal).

I think SW is psychologically healthier (for me), and I feel really good after three weeks of eating lots of fruit/veg/meat/pasta etc. I like not counting certain foods, and I like not weighing everything obsessively. It suits me fine, and I can see myself doing a very long-term (life long) time on SW because it fits in with health. Anyway, *fingers crossed*!
