I had planned on starting my refeed Monday but ended up starting today. i've been so unwell with a very bad kidney infection since tuesday and with work i only got to the doctor yesterday morning. I had been on 2 antibiotics 2 weeks ago for a gum infection and my doctor said that my kidneys were giving out to me because of the antibiotics and not having food to process them with. I was meant to take them with food so took them with my shakes and felt fine while doping it so i think maybe its just a coincidence. She supported me while on lipotrim but insisted i refeed now rather than monday as i'm on more antibiotics. I've never had a kidney infection like this before, over the past 3 days i was only able to stomach 5 shakes so i'm so weak too and struggling to drink anymore than 2 litres of water drank a day.
I went to my pharmacy today for a last weigh in. They have been very supportive and gave me a few leaflets (must read them!) about refeeding and explained it to me in detail - didn't want to tell them i had read loads about it already here! but what i found funny was they said i couldn't use my tfr shakes as part of my refeed because they were made up differently and my body would think i was trying to go back to ketosis each morning. they gave me a few samples of the maintainence shakes and i bought a box of the bars. I still feel very sick all the time but managed to have a bar, took about 20 minutes to eat as i felt so rough but it was nice to chew again and taste something other than chocolate or chicken shakes! The tfr shakes i've left i'll just keep for when i go back on it at the end of the summer.
I know this sounds silly but a little bit of me feels i've let myself down by refeeding early, i know its only 2 days and it won't make much difference but psychologically its a bit of a blow to me.
I don't like meat/fish/poultry so emailed lipotrim to see could i have eggs as quorn tastes like meat so don't eat it very often and they said i could have 2 eggs boiled, scrambled or poached instead so i'll have egg salad later if i can stomach it! It's crap feeling sick at the start of refeed, i'm meant to be looking forward to eating healthily but i'm really not, well today anyway, give it a few days and i'll be fine
