Hi Rach, nope no syns doesn't help speed up your loses, I'm trying to save a few for weekend as I have no idea what kind of foods are available for Tapas.
I once did a whole week without any syns at all and STS - gutted.
 
As I've been away I thought I would still update my food diary but because it's been restaurant food I can't really estimate the syns I've used - if anyone can help I would be grateful. We ate the bulk of the food at La Tasca.

Saturday Red - Quorn bacon, scrambled egg, milk (hex), potato skins (hex), chicken wing, aubergines, tomato, chicken pieces in garlic, sweetener

Coffee, water, soda water

SYNS - 1/4 small meat pizza (not sure what kind it was supposed to be), 3 meatballs, 1 seafood croquette, 1 chicken croquette, 1 tbs chorizo slices, 1 small slice of tortilla, 1 tbs potatas bravas, 2 whiskies, 2 small glasses of cava, 1 shot


Sunday Red - Bacon, scrambled egg, tomato, mushrooms, quorn sausage, 28g shredded wheat bitesize (hex), milk (hex), mullerlight, pork steaks, cauliflower, cabbage, brocolli, hifi bar (hex), strawberries

Tea, coffee, water

SYNS - 1 small shortbread finger - 5,
3 sugars - 3
2 squares wholenut - 4

Daily Syn Total - 12

The one thing I do notice is maybe you could use more Syns? We are told to use 70-105 per week and this week you only used 69. Apart from that it looks good
 
thanks taz - that's what I thought, last week when I had a pig out on the wednesday and the night in newcastle I lost 1.5lbs, I'll try increasing this week.
now i come to think of it, the last time I went out and had a few drinks I lose more then too - hmmm...
 
You may be like me. My body responds better to more rather than less. When I tried calorie counting it just didn't work as I needed more fuel. I always find that when I have very few Syns I lose less
 
I did once try with no syns and maintained - was truly gutted and vowed NEVER to so that again lol. I've updated todays diary to include my tea.
