I have been making porridge but sometimes it is a bit hit and miss, I just threw the ingredients in the bowl, sometimes it was ok, sometimes like cement!
So, I thought I would measure everything out this morning and it was a success.
You may need to adjust the cooking time depending on your microwave, mine is only an 800w, or, you may want to adjust the sweetener, vanilla, to taste.
2 tbs Oat Bran
100ml Cold Water
1½ tsp Sweetener
¼ tsp Vanilla Extract (approx capful)
2 tbs Skimmed Milk (semi if allowed)
Add water to oat bran, stir and leave for a minute or two for the water to soak into the bran.
Cook on high in the microwave for 2 mins but stop and stir every 30 secs. After 1½ mins add the milk, stir and put back in for 30 secs.
After 2 mins, add the sweetener and extract, stir and leave for a minute or so, it will thicken in this time.
Everyone has their own way of making porridge but this seems to have worked for me.
