2nd day and struggling!!

Hi all,

I'm a longtime lurker but first time poster.

I started yesterday and could only stomach one shake (summer fruits) I drank a tonne of water (over 3 litres) and was fine, no hunger at all.

Today I haven't even managed one shake I really hate the taste, made with ice water, made with water, and all the flavours :(

I took a spoon from all my flavours and tried them which is why I know I don't like them, including the bars...

Any suggestions?! Pleeeeeease :D

I'm on my way home now And already dreading another shake (I think it's because I normally don't have things like that) and I'm really hungry today so I want to stick to it so bad!!

I'm really worried about doing more harm by not even having the three a day.

Any help would be appreciated

Hi Steph, If you really really cant stand the shakes perhaps you could try slim and save instead? Or maybe do WW if you really cant stand being without solid food? Personally I find the shakes grand if a bit bland (which I think is the whole point - they're not supposed to taste very horrible or very nice either for that matter). If you really want to stick to LT (and trust me, this diet really really works) then you just have to try and convince yourself that they are palatable. If you just gulp them down you wont taste them anyway? Or you could try and drink them through a straw? Another thing you could do is go on the Maintenance shakes and have a light dinner. The maintenance shakes are meant to be a bit tastier. I find it helpful to think about the pro's and cons of this diet because the pro's always win out and a couple of minutes discomfort knocking back 3 shakes a day is worth it for the great results on this diet. Best of luck, I'm sure if you took the first step of buying the week's shakes you can do this for a week and see how you feel after WI.
 
im on day 2 also, and i think its to do with frame of mind....im not over the moon at having to drink these shakes but they
will get me to where i want and need to be.
a lot of being sucessful at losing the weight is dealing with your head 1st, try and think of these shakes as the key that
unlocks the weightloss (which they are) keep on in there, and stay positive.
 
Hey Steph, I saw a message somewhere on this forum that struck a chord with me - someone said that they see the shakes as their 'fat medicine'! I think that makes a lot of sense. Medicine rarely tastes nice, but you take it when you need it right? I drink all of my shakes through a straw and drink them slowly. This definitely helps to get them down. I personally can't do the really quick gulping thing that some people suggest as it makes me gag, but slowly through a straw is fine for me. Try both and see if either method help!

Yeah I know what you mean I have to drink mine real slow, I leave for work at 5am and make my shake just before then I'm still drinking it at 10am, I really want this to work but I'm not sure if I'm doing more harm than good!


I think mine comes from the fact I hate smoothies and milkshakes and when I drink that's what I can taste even though I know it's not, mind over matter I guess!! Even yesterday when I finished it eventually I was still gagging! :(


I only drink water anyway but have totally upped my intake but I'm really struggling just hope the flavour starts to settle on me...I still haven't had another one and didn't finish this mornings either still have half left, which I have now thrown away, I know they say to have three but am I doing any damage by only having 1 or a half a one since that's all I can cope with at the moment?

Steph, if you're having Summer Fruits does that mean youre doing the maintenance diet? If so you can have two shakes and a meal.
 
I found day 2 one of the hardest stick with it. I haven't tried it but many say mixing with coffee helps. I live the chocolate and vanilla shakes. Since your on maintenance I read that those items taste a lot sweeter than the tfr
