I was sceptical myself, but a few people I know had one and rated it. I love the actifry. I tend to use oil in mine, as it's 6 syns for the 1 tbsp of oil that does the whole bucket of chips or roast pots, which I share between all of us so only 1.5 syns for lovely potato. Yum.
I have used it for butternut squash, sweet potato wedges, roasted veg and they're all lovely.
People do use fry light in the actifry, but I personally find it makes the chips quite dry.
I think using syns for the oil is worth it.
I really love the actifry.
