Hi guys :wavey:
I'm new here so am going to introduce myself and my weight loss history and story so far. Am a little nervous to do so as I'm not that great at explaining...
I'm a 23 year old male from south of england and I started dieting 3 years ago because my weight got to 24 stone. I'm 6 foot 4 and everyone told me I didn't look that heavy because of my height and "pulled it off" (Not that it is a good enough reason to justify!)
I started dieting in Feb 2010 by doing the Atkins diet. I did it with my partner and over the course of the entire year up to December 2010 I lost 8 stone, got down to 16 stone, which was really good but probably not good for you in such a short time. But I suddenly got loads of confidence with my job, going out more, etc, compliments. I felt great.
But it didn't last for long because over the last 2 years I've managed to put on 5 stone (had a rough year, 2012 wasnt my year for many reasons...but still no excuses) am so ashamed of myself and embarrassed, because a lot of people who were so proud of me haven't said anything to me regarding my weight, because theyre probably dissapointed in me. I know I am 3 stone away from where I was, but I still feel like I was at the start.
I decided to start slimming world a few months ago with stop - start dieting and crashed and gave up every week - i lost that incentive that made me stick to a diet.
I am now on my 2nd week of SW and havent crashed. something it keeping me on! (my mum did SW and convinced me, as she managed to loose and keep off so much weight and it really is a way of living and teaches you how to eat...) I haven't weighed myself yet and I'm kinda holding it off for a few more weeks so I (hopefully) get a nice suprise.
Has anyone got any good advice on incentives? or goals...general advice really...
One thing that has made stick to this diet was how pleased i was to be able to shop in nice stores... rather than "big n tall"... and its working
