Almond flour

My giddy aunt, just checked my local health food shop and a teensy bag of almond flour is £2.77!

Anyone made their own and if so, any tips? I hear it's all too easy to end up with almond butter :D

Do you have an aldi near? It's 99P there for 180g. Have ground whole almonds in blender previously too, then transfer to the coffee grinder to make it finer. You just do it in short bursts and keep checking. Mine has never turned to butter.

Thanks guys, worth checking out Aldi for that price.

Might try doing my own too - want to make Smiley's almond and lemon cake :)

It would be lovely with berries and cream I think. I'm a few pounds off adding berries in, but will look forward to it in the future.

Just a note to any newer atkinsers that almonds (and other nuts) aren't induction foods - and even on owl we need to seriously watch portions ;) my biggest tip for using it is to only make single serving portions unless you have mighty self discipline or a hungry family (cupcakes and muffins are ideal).

But they do open up some fun new recipes!
