have noticed that not a lot of people follow the rules(so to speak!)on having a food break on week five of TS a lot just carry on, was just wondering is the food week supposed to boost your metabolism and if anyone adds food on these week has it affected your weight loss by much :) was planning on following the program but eating an evening meal of food suitable to stay in ketosis but dont wanna slow down my weight loss too much.

I think they say to do it because we aren't being watched by a counsellor (like in Lighter Life) - in case we get an eating disorder.

I have one meal each week, instead. I'm training for the Moonwalk in May, so I eat my meal before my long training walk. Because of the exercise, I add in a bit more carbs, but still stay in ketosis.

If I wasn't doing the walk, then -yes- I would just keep going on TS.

I did an AAM week in week 9 when I first started Exante - just because it was roughly the half way point between my start date and Christmas.
I don't know many people who do it after every fourth week - most tend to follow the 12 week rule instead. As the above poster stated, Exante recommend a break more often as we're not monitored like people on LL or Cambridge.
A lot of people also feel that week 5 is too soon to introduce food - I don't think I would have trusted myself at that point as I was just finding my feet with it. Ultimately I'd do whatever feels right for you, whether that's doing a AAM in week 5, 12, or anywhere in between :)

Hi there. I add a meal every sat night. It wasnt planned that way but has worked for me so im keeping it up. Its good cos i keep to low carb and low cal and find that it doesnt taste as good as you imagine. Therefore i am not having any cravings whatsoever. It hasnt knocked me out of ketosis. Im exercising a good bit too to make sure i work off the cals for what ive eaten but even so im not having dizzy spells or anything. I did LT full on for 10 weeks a few years back and found myself desperate after that long - weakness and dizziness. I ate and then couldnt face going back to it. I think with aam each week ill be able to last a lot longer.

Thanks guys, i just don t know what to do, think i will probably skip it as i dont want to mess up this diet now by feeling like i let myself down and also see the logic in if you start eating something that tastes much nicer it may turn my stomach to think of havin exante soup for tea whereas at the moment any of it seems nice lol .
