Boat party what to wear?

big bear

A bear on a mission!
Ok I've got a boat party on the Thames in about 6 weeks. I 'should' be a size 16 by then.

I've just no idea what to wear. I'm not sure if it's really dressy or leggings/tunic top type of night.

Anyone been on one, if so what does one wear?

Any ideas or comments appreciated...thanks xx

The last boat party I went to was on the Mersey and, well, it was just so Scouse. Everyone wore a limited number of clothes, 6" heels and Tom Selleck eyebrows. If you want my advice, don't wear that:rolleyes:

Lol won't be slim enuf to wear not much....don't do heels....I've a dodgy right eyebrow if that's any good!!!

OOh..I'd say most of them weren't slim enough to wear what they were wearing. It looked as though most of them had had a Lou Ferrigno moment between leaving the house and getting in the cab.

In all seriousness, I'd get quite dressed up for a boat party but in a sensible manner. Definitely flats, lord help you if it gets a bit choppy in heels, and most certainly something warm! I'd dress a "nice" outfit up (maybe saturday night in local pub kind of thing) up with some showy jewellery. But then I am indeed Scouse and we do tend to overdress for everything!

This made me giggle! Best thing about 'scouse' nights out in Liverpool is seeing what outfits they are wearing! ;)

I get paid to put makeup on these people! Lunacy, I tell you.

Brilliant! :D

I would probably wear flats too at this time of year in case the wind is a bit fresh out there, maybe a dress with a blazer if you're going to be in & out of the covered bit of the boat (I'm sure there's a proper name for that area, but can't conjure it up right now!)?

I've done it a couple of times & always gone quite dressy, but it's been in the Summer! Yay for the size 16 too! :)

This made me howl with laughter!! :8855:
