I went to visit my friend i haven't seen for nearly a year today and she has lost tones of weight on slimming world. This is one diet i have never tried. And fancy giving it a go. I have about a stone and half to lose.

My question is when i go to a meeting, do they give me booklets a week i can take home so i have something to follow and keep referring to.?

Thanks

Yes, when you go to a group and join you get all the books you need and your card that will hold your weight history (and you login details for the website).

Hello,

I would recommend you pop along to your local SW group and have a chat to the consultant. They will discuss the plan with you and show you the pack that is given to each member on joining. It includes information on the principles of SW and how this works, a detailed explanation of what to eat and how this is structured. There is also other information in the pack about 'body magic' etc and the consultant will be happy to talk to you about all of this. There is no commitment to join, but obviously if you don't you can't take the pack away.

You do not get weekly booklets etc, it is not like Weightwatchers. Basically, you are given all you need when you join. You can buy additional books from your group, food directories, syn free food books, recipe books to help you along the way. Also, you can buy bars and the SW magazine at a discounted rate.

Additionally, you will get access to the SW website and with that and the support of your consultant and group you will have all you need to get you on your way. Hope that helps.

Ah thank you. That's what I wanted to know. I didn't know if you had to pay for the pack. Along with membership and weekly fee.
I will pop down on Wednesday thanks again

Hi, thought I'd add a little question to this tread. I'm following the plan online as I work shifts so can't get to a weekly meeting. I have the food optimising, body magic and the food directory 2013. Are there any other books that would be worth me buying, eg snack guide and branded food or are these similar to he books I already have? Would really appreciate any advice offered :)

TBH I think it's personal choice. I have the main books and loaned the low syn snacks and free branded foods to my daughter and haven't missed them at all. I have been very happy with everything I find here and on the SW website and app to get by. I also have some recipe books, and again, I have rarely cooked from them. I think if I wanted ideas I would get them here or I would buy the SW magazine which is usually full of recipes to try. Hope that helps :)
