Clothes

Since I lost the majority of my weight I have more clothes than I have ever had. Its great being able to get clothes from such a range of places and am always seeing stuff I like etc I wish I had more money to buy them though!
I feel a bit at the moment that am struggling to find my style though if that makes any sense? Not that I have to stick to a style but between adjusting to my shape/age/money constraints/practicality of clothes for work etc I seem to have a lot of separate items that I like but don't necessarily go together or suit me/flatter me?

This week I have bought 3 tops, a pair of jeans a pair of boots and a cardigan but not sure any of them go together!
I'd like to be able to express myself more and feel like am a bit boring/scruffy

Wondered if anyone else had any thoughts/opinions/tips etc?

I could do with a visit from Gok!

Sorry can't help, but I do understand where you're coming from. I'm 46 & look at clothes & think oh thats nice, then think, hang on can I really wear that at my age. I don't wear short skirts, but love them on other girlies, when on hols I saw lots of girlies of all ages wearing short skirts & decided I'm going to wear them, but reality is 'can I wear them:cool:'.

We've just got a dilema on our hands which we need help with, yep Gok would be perfect.:D

BTW, I've not helped you, but I do feel better for sharing my thoughts with you.

No it does help to know am not the only one. Hubby would love me to wear skirts and has bought tights which are nice but I've not got the skirts to go with them.
I end up wearing leggings with long tops/tunics a lot of the time as still not happy with my lumps and bumps etc but its so boring!
I didn't really expressmyself with clothes as was growing up astoo big and though am not exactly small now it feels more my age/responsibilities/lack of money getting in the way!
Maybe we should set a challenge to try a diferent outfit/style or something? Have you seen the sort of skirt you'd like to wear?

I feel exactly the same, thats why I posted a picture of an outfit I wanted to wear, after all the replues I thought just go for it and I did!!!

Well I haven't but it's not all bad news.

The reason I haven't is I've not had time this week, my friend came round for a chat on Wednesday, I was supposed (cancelled at last minute) to go out for drinks Thursday night & MiL came round with wine & chocs last night. But the good news is I'm off to Asda later as I've seen an above the knee dress which I'm going to try on & wear for this weekend.

If I can I'll post a picture of the dress later.

hi there... well i am rubbish with clothes shopping although i love it!
i generally wear jeans at the weekend and chinos or black trousers for work, i am really into blouses lately as they are so comfy and have long sleeves (gotta be long sleeves, my bingo wings are so bad if i set them free id be flying away!) and they come in various styles so i have some chiffon ones for work and going out and some cotton ones for the weekend. I would love to be able to wear leggings but... well i would just be a total embarrassment to myself lol
I have been thinking about getting a knee length denim skirt and a nice thick pair of tights, i saw a really nice bergundy kinda coloured skirt in tescos too.

my sister wears alot of skirts from 'the white stuff' and they are lovely but they are quite expensive.
i find that sainsburys do nice plain knee length skirts and they always have a sale on.

Thank you both, that's really nice of you to say so.

I also tried on other dresses, but they just didn't look right; and I think the dress was only £16 which I thought was pretty good.;)
