CRAVING SOMETHING SWEET

Okay I have NEVER had a sweet tooth - but a week into Atkins and I am craving something sweet :( I don't like jelly, and I don't want to buy the bars as I know that they can stall some people so I need a bit of help.
I did see on an early forum post that someone mixed sweetener with cream cheese so it tastes like cheesecake topping just wondering can we so the same with mascopone cream? Is that allowed?

Also any more suggestions please would be wonderful xxxxxxxxx (Oh and which ones are okay on induction)

Also is it better to have the tables splenda or powdered?

Tesco mascarpone appears to have 3.5g carbs per 100g so that wouldn't be too bad as long as you can control your intake. Do check the label and measure the amount you have. Mix some sweetener and flavoring in and it should be yummy. I also love a big mug of alpro unsweetened soya milk with sweetener and flavoring.

Tablet sweeteners are much better than powdered - powdered has a carby substance added to it to stop the grains sticking together, so it is 1g carb per teaspoon full. Tablet sweetner are usually less than 0.01g per tablet.

For adding to cream, you can dissolve the tablets in a splash of hot water, then add it as a liquid.

There's a nice Swiss roll recipe in the recipes section you could try too. A little like a sweet oopsie roll.

Thanks Moonlight - I saw the swiss roll so I am going to try and make that today

Most nights I microwave about 250ml of unsweetened soya milk and use it to make cocoa with Green & Blacks cocoa powder and a tiny bit of Splenda. I usually make it quite bitter, and it stems any sweet cravings I have. I can't even buy cream unless it's all going to be used in a recipe otherwise I just drink it haha!!

Hope you find something that works for you :)

I'm the same Nicola... No self restraint at all lol

I have a bowl of whipped cream in the fridge and I am trying to avoid the fridge now as the finger keeps going in it every time I open it lol

i made a cream cheese/splenda sorta cheesecake concoction a couple of weeks ago. my friend (my diet guru) put me onto it and at the time it did taste nice BUT, and you could guess a but was coming right? well it gave me the most evil, hellish, disgusting heart burn i have have ever had, it took ages to go, kept me up all night, even with tablets for it and resorting to milk in desperation!
