Day 1

First day today and my husband is making my favourite for tea tonight. What a challenge. I'm hungry, headachy and my tummy hurts. Willpower!

Well done on starting the diet and it is a nightmare when your favourite food is within reach! Stay strong and before you know it you'll be having your first weigh in and seeing your hard work pay off.

Good luck! :)

Well done! That's great - and it definitely helps to have something warm in this weather when we can't have the food we want.

Thanks, and you'll get plenty support on this forum and it's great keeping a diary on here as I find it really helps to read back on it when you are struggling down the line.

Well I haven't slept a wink but have ordered slim noodles, wasabi paste and some yummy looking bars so all is not lost. Planning meal combinations in my head as I'm doing the plan which allows a 100 cal meal with carbs less than 5g. I'm hoping to end up cutting that extra meal out. Bit super scared of gall bladder problems which people mention but hoping the risk is worth the heart disease and diabetes that will enviably develop if I stay at this weight.
i wonder whether insomnia is a side affect?

Feeling very relaxed, axed, positive and as though I've taken charge at last. Happy really. And trying not to make it a big deal.

I will undoubtedly dip in and out of this diary when the need arises.

Good luck to any other starters :)

adios x

Day 2 and I'm hungry. Opened the fridge to find my favourite mushroom pate and knowing it's New Years Eve tomorrow isn't helping either. I felt very positive yesterday but these thoughts are popping into my head, such as, blow it and start again in the New Year. But I'm using my willpower to continue on. I was on and off the toilet all night last night despite not drinking nearly enough. I haven't drank enough today either so am cramming this evening. No doubt it will be a repeat of last night.

im also suffering from Insomnia at the moment. It's fine as my husband is off work and has taken over until Ketosis kicks in. He is in the kitchen cooking tea now.

He was upset earlier when he realised I'd be on this plan for his birthday in 3 weeks. I do understand as we usually celebrate with a bottle or 3 and a meal out. But if I keep postponing it will go on and on.

But I have to sort this weight issue out. Have to concentrate on the benefits.

Before the sunshine, you have to weather the storm!

until tomorrow dear diary.

Well I've just made a delicious low carb under 100 calorie tea to discover I'm doing it wrong :(. Boo. So I'm going to continue until I've finished the rather delicious vat of courgette and dill soup plus 3 shakes a day and see how much weight I loose. It's classed as a Ketosis dish and I have the weird taste in my mouth so I figure I'm entering the big K. I felt like this lasts night until I had 3 slices of quorn turkey. I know, now that that knocked me right out of K. Who would have thought 3 slices could do so much damage but yup. The scales went up too.

so Day 3 tomorrow. Onwards and downwards. Oh and I've upped my water intake and the loo is my new best friend :)

Thanks Ninja!

I've had another night of insomnia. I know it's not related to the diet but to work bits I find easier to do at night, plus nipping upstairs for a nap during the day. Not helping!

I've decided that I'm having tomorrow evening and New Year's Day off. Feel too much of a part pooper otherwise. My yummy bars arrive tomorrow though so think I may sample one, have another bowl of my delish soup and a few carbs bits for tea. I'm doing a buffet for the family as the kids love them, being vegetarian I'll just make sure to get mostly meat based bits. I won't pick then. I want a few very carb bits though as I'll share a bottle of chambers with my long suffering husband. He's been so good cooking for the kids etc. I,m going to cut the extra meal bit out though and go for the 3 meal a day plan.

Happy New Year all. Here's to a new and healthier us. :)
