I
have been following slimming world since the end of October, but recently i have been constantly feeling dizzy, especially when i have sat down and then stood back up again, also when i get out of bed or bend over, i go really dizzy got to hold on the something as it feels like i'm going to fall over!!
To be honest i'm not sure it's to do with slimming world, as i'm eating the best i ever have.

Does anyone else suffer from dizziness, or have done previously?

get to a doctor and get checked out. Could be nothing, but my boss got it and they said he was suffering from vertigo, and my mum got it and she had low blood sugar, so best get it checked out :)

I've been to the doctors and she checked everything, and everything seemed fine, blood pressure normal, eyes normal, got a light and looked in behind eyes all normal. tomorrow im going back for further tests! bloods, and also im having BP done, then im going to lay down for 15 mins and then stand up and have BP taken again!

Are you having Vitamin B12 checked too?

I know I'm forever going on about it but they found out I was deficient by a happenstance (he ticked every box by accident!). Anaemia caused by deficiencies in Vitamin B 12 and Folic Acid are very under diagnosed.

thats what i was going to suggest having done, my blood pressure plummets when i stand up, sometimes walking up stairs etc and i go exactly the same way as you.

my BP is low end of normal so it drops stupidly low and away i go lol - postural hypotension its called

another b12 deficient person here and Im always telling people to get checked too!

it sounds very much like low blood pressure but make sure you get everything checked that you can ...including your b12 levels xx

Hi! Do you have iron and Folic acid anaemia too?? I feel like I've got Ribena in my veins!! Do you have a cause? My friend and I both have no known cause and the nurse who gives me my injection reckons it's more common now!
Anyway hi to another tired sister!! Xxx

im two weeks from my jab and really struggling. I have nerve damage caused by it not being diagnosed before it was giving me some awful symptoms and the pain is awful at times, then i struggle to eat at all. My neuro said its likely I have PA but i didnt show the antibodies, but Im also wondering if mine is connected to a problem with gluten and a malabsorbtion issue...either way it sucks lol . Hope you're having a good day, not a foggy one xx

lol sorry, i didnt answer your question - told you I was struggling ! My iron levels are lowish but not too bad, but my folate is a problem. Take big doses of folic acid daily and can always tell if I'm getting low as it makes me very tearful. x

My Iron is low at mo so I'm soooo tired! I've had tests for Coeliac disease then when that was negative I was given the radioactive tagged B12 that showed I absorbed it ok(!) but Gastroenterologist wanted me on injections, I have them every 8weeks as I was too exhausted to do 12 weeks. They've just started issuing me with a private prescription so I have to buy the vials and take them in!
I'm not entirely convinced on the result of the Coeliac test as even the Gastroenterologist was 99.9% sure I had it! I've read of lots of false negatives.
Anyway I take Feroglobin in the two weeks before an injection and that takes the edge off a bit x

Aplologies to OP fir thread hijacking x

i get this and have been doctors and had blood tests but nothing showed up and they havent took any further action.
it is very annoying as sometimes my head just flops to the side

That sounds like something going on in the vestibular area, I forget the exact cause mind! I'll have a look layer

the what area?

Vestibular sorry I meant to come back and say, this is a problem with the inner ear, moving your eyes can set off a major wobble and some days worse than others! How I cope is by doing the exercises set, don't worry they involve lying on the bed moving your eyes lol! Ask the dr if he can give you a sheet, at best it will help at worst it'll do nothing with no harm xxxx

Thanks for all your replies, i had my blood pressure done on the second day and it was low, but the nurse who did it, said it's a healthy low!!
I now need to go back to see the doctor again on Monday and see what she says!

Hello, I suffer with exactly the same thing. I suffered with dizzy spells for years and finally got a diagnosis.

The medical terminology is Vasovagal which simply means you suffer with fainting spells.

I usually get dizzy if I get up, or go from laying to standing. The doctor said that I naturally have low blood pressure but when I go from sitting/laying down to standing up my blood pressure quickly drops and it takes my body a little while to adjust hence dizzy spells.

There isn't really a cure as the doctor, I was advised that its better to have low blood pressure. I was told that if ny dizzy spells became regular then they may consider putting me on tablets to raise my blood pressure but it would mean drugs for years.

I also get dizzy if I'm in an emotional stressful situation.

I was advised to make sure that I adjust how quickly I get up, if i feel dizzy quickly sit down and take deep breaths and try to relax. Since doing this my dizzy spells have reduced dramatically.

Hope this is some help

Good luck x
