DUKAN BREAD (enough for 3 days oat bran allowance)
6 tbsp oat bran
3 tbsp wheat bran (tolerated)
4 egg whites & 3 egg yolks
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1/2 tub of quark, or 2 tbsp or 125g
Oven temp 160c for 30 mins
line a loaf tin with grease proof paper (you can lightly oil it instead if you prefer)
Put 3 yolks, quark, baking powder, salt, wheat bran & oat bran in a bowl and mix well.
Then whisk the 4 egg whites until really stiff. Gently fold in the yolk/bran etc mix into the egg whites until combined.
Pop in loaf tin then straight into oven for 30 mins 160c.
when it cools I divide it in thirds and keep in fridge.
n.b if you make a sandwich or toast with it because of the width of the slices you may need to press it down with your hand, you will know what I mean when you eat it, unless you have an extremely wide mouth :0
You can toast this & lovely with dukan Nutella, also nice for dipping in soups/stews .
