Eating out

So me and hubby on a kind of version of SS+ this week. Last Sunday we went to TGI's and I had steak and veg (that's it) and couldn't finish it. Tonight I'm going for another meal with friends, I've looked at the menu and they do chicken with veg or tuna salad- both sound lovely. Then sunday for Mother's Day were going to a cavery place which is easy, again meat & veg. I can only manage small portions anyway. So will be interesting to see if I lose any this week. We had a 5 day period a couple of weeks ago of eating and managed to still lose 2.5lbs.

I am in two minds regarding this.

1) I think it is hugely beneficial for people to demonstrate they can go to a restaurant and make healthy choices within this diet. It is important for maintaining social relationships, but also it shows you can cope with food and then pull straight back. But I am talking on special occasions.

2) Be very careful. I firmly believe once you start adapting the diet you are changing you mindset and the 'tweaks' creep up on you. Most restarters will tell you, that the worst problem we have is knowing too much, and knowing what we can 'get away' with. But I long for the days where I was petrified to touch a morsel of food in case it took me out of ketosis.

But that said, you are making the right choices and still losing, so do whatever it takes to make this diet work for you.

Well I started with the good intentions and on Saturday just had the meat and veg with a fruit tea for dessert lol and then on the Mother's Day I had turkey and veg and then spoilt it all by having a dessert I know it's not a good enough excuse but it was a set meal so we basically would have had to pay for it anyway. My hubby still lost 3lb! I lost nothing, just maintained. Better than gaining I suppose but at least I don't have the mindset now of testing what I can get away with! Just now at the end of day 3 and its been like starting it all over again but I have the determination. I have 2 1/2 weeks and the it will be my sons 3rd birthday and it will be a buffet. I'm not going to lie I'm going to have a little and if I maintain that week I'll be happy. Then back on track again. I know I can easily jump straight back on it again even if its hard work but I don't want this diet to spoil my social life either. So here's hoping for a good loss this week(although on TOTM)
