Morning all,
I started the gym about 5 weeks and noticing results already which im happy about.
However over the last week I have completely lost the get up and go.
I do really enjoy going but I just really cannot be bothered at the moment.

Does anyone have any advise/suggestions?

Thanks

Hi fellow gym bunny, i started back at the gym last week and im loving it, but i get where youre coming from, im fine once i get there its just making the effort to go, ive found that using my syns as a treat at weekend keeps me motivated , after gym on a saturday i have a nice coffee and a low syn treat.

Also because im slightly mad ive made up stories for people in the gym eg doris and betty the poodle perm pensioners who are training for the olympics lol ...like i sad mad...but it keeps me entertained at teh gym and the sessions go a lot faster

Have you thought about trying some DVDs?

I do the 30 day shred and honestly I can't reccomend it highly enough. it only takes 20 mins/half hour and you feel great after. you don't have to leave the house haha.

Thanks you two,
I was thinking of getting the 30 day shred. Play.com have it for 4.99 at the moment and I was reading someone had so fantastic results the other day.
Iv done my weights at home today, that felt good. I usually go after work but even though my days are only 6 hours sometimes they are so bloody long the last thing I want to do is 1.5 hours at the gym.

Edit...Ok bought Jillians dvd, lets see how I get on with it shall we. My gym membership is only £19.95 so keeping that going, im hoping exercising at home will help. If I really get in to 30days though and the results are good I will then cancel the gym.

Does your gym do classes? I find that I stay more motivated when I do group exercise and feel like evry minute in a class is used productively (I wasn't so good at that in the gym). I try to vary my classes as well so that it's a mix of cardio and strength, and a mix of instructors as well.

Try to get tough with yourself - you don't want to undo all that hard work. And as much as you don't fancy going, ask yourself, have you every regretted going to the gym when you get back. Now compare that with how you feel when you haven't been. Don't know about you, but the guilt is enough to ruin my week! Come on. Shift it :eek:P
