Exercising on S&S - any tips?

Having a very lovely life
I'm keen to do what I can to aid toning and want to restart my exercising. I'm not superfit by any stretch of the imagination, but before I started VLCDing I attended a weekly aerobics session and cycled 6 miles a day 3-5 times a week. I've not returned to any of that as I was a bit nervous about activity with such a low cal intake, but I think that's probably just me being a bit daft. Anyhow, I want to get back to my cycling - for financial reasons as well as the health benefits, cycling to work is free, parking is very expensive!

I also have a cross trainer at home, I'm planning 10 mins a day to start with, and a further 10 minutes exercising on my vibroplate. I'd like to start yoga or pilates at some point, but not yet.

Does this sound OK? Are there any precautions I should take? If I feel a bit lightheaded for example to start with, is this normal? Any hints and tips would be much appreciated :D

Hi you do need to be careful as on such a low calorie intake you can easily go into a calorie deficit for the day, which will slow you down rather than speed things up. If you're doing a lot of exercise then I'd have another pack a day & make sure you have more water to cover your exercising

I love having some daily exercise. I just make sure I go to the gym not long after I gave had my breakfast shake and drink plenty of water when there

It may slow my losses but the other benefits I get are great. I lose lots of inches off my problem areas and hoping they won't jiggle too much as my weight goes down my body is toning as I lose. My mood is great really lifts my spirits an makes me feel positive and on track 100% for the day ahead.

I would say start doing some exercise and see how you feel you could always add a but if extra protein into your diet if you feel the need

I swim 50 lengths 4 times a week and find that as long as I have either a bar or some protein about 30 mins before I am fine.. I guess it's trial and error to see how you feel... :)

You'll go into a calorie deficit anyway- you'll use up the calories you're consuming just by being awake and moving about.
The key is to listen to your body- keep a bar in your cycling coat in case you go a bit wobbly, go up to 4 packs on exercise if you feel like you need it. If you feel terrible then stop! Add exercise gradually and take it steady. Don't go balls out on your first session and see how you feel after.

Thanks for the advice. For now I'm going to stand on my vibroplate and not do the excercises, just take the toning benefits from it, then I'll gradually build up. I figure I can pootle along on my bike without too much effort, just going along at a steady pace, it's mainly flat on my route so I don't need to break into a sweat - then I'll build that up. I'll leave the cross trainer for now and add that in at a later date when I've got a routine going with the rest.

I'm impressed with all you exercise peeps, I'm so blooming lazy, can't bear exercising, I wish I did like it. I keep telling myself that I'll do more when I'm slim, but lets be honest, I've said all that before!!
