Fasting and dukan

The month of Ramadhan has started which means that Muslims across the word will be fasting from sunrise to sunset (approx 4am to 9pm tomorrow!) that means NO food or drink during this time. Now I would love some advice as to how I can avoid gaining wait and instead sticking to dukan (as a lot of ppl load up on carbs after) I was thinking eggs, youghurt and other type of proteins with tons of water around 4am and then break fast with oatbran and protien food. I'm only fasting during weekends as It gets very complicated at work. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Wow Maddie, I admire your spiritual dedication.

Personally, I would fill up on chicken and eggs just before sunrise, topping off with a couple of muffins. No science to this, but nothing seems to fill me up like chicken does!

Good luck, enjoy Ramadan and let us know how you get on.

Maddie, me again!

Just found this excerpt in Joodle's transcripts of the live Dukan chats ...

If you are going to be fasting for Ramadan, stay on cruise but really fill up on protein in the morning, then break the fast with a galette and plenty of protein in the evening

Hope this helps.

Thanks Pauline!! To be honest the only difficulty is not drinking water, and it's a sense of relief to be able to control yourself when ur normally a big foodie like me :) I didn't have have chicken at home but here's what I had at 4am:

-omelette made of two eggs and a splash of skimmed milk topped with plenty of tuna that I had earlier pan fried with onions and seasoning

-1.5 litre of water

- had taken my total 0% yoghurt out but had no space that late :(

I might get really hungry by the end, let's see, but saved my oatbran for later :) will make galettes as recommended!

Thank u

ooo I've never known anyone before who would be fasting, well done on your dedication and I hope it all goes well for you and you're not too hungry. I'd have terrible headaches if it were me LOL.

Yaay i made it :) even went out for a walk in the heat and have to admit ended up quiet thirsty! Was invited elsewhere to break my fast and resisted all the temptation and simply had the food I had brought (yes I felt like a rude and picky guest by bringing my own food- only way for me to stay on track :( ) had hommade chili with Shirtaki noodles and ff youghurt, made a little chocolate cake Thingy with the oatbran and had that as desert with coffee, getting some water in now :) tomorrow will be a non fasting day, and hopefully a trip to the gym. Btw any idea if onions are allowed on pp?? I have onions in most of my cooking, just realised that might not be a great option! Thanks guys!!

on PP onions are used in small amounts as a seasoning/taste only. I usually just use half a small onion on PP days (like today LOL) and then on pv days use more.

Admaration hear too well done xxx

Hey Maddie, how are you doing with Ramadan?

I'm watching the opening ceremony for the Olympics and the narrator said that the Egyptians have been 'granted permission' to abstain from Ramadan until The Games are over! Interesting methinks.

Anyway, that prompted me to think of you ... hope all is well
