First day on slim and save

Hi all, this is my first day on slim and save its going well and a lot easier then I thought, just wanted to know how hard it will get and when you get to goal is it easy to keep the weight off? Will be greatful for any help and advice, thanks xx:eek:

Congratulations on your first day. I am on week 2 and it gets so much easier after day 4. Just make sure you drink lots of water.

Good luck

Once ketosis is established it's not too bad. As for keeping it off after. Well that depends on the individual. If you go back to how you ate before then you'll end up where you are now. If you change your eating habits then it will stay off.

I did cd before and nearly got to goal I felt fantastic. Then my old eating habits came back and I got fat again.

This time around because I'm more educated i shall be slowely moving up the plans (even now every other day I will have a meal, odd handful of peanuts and some grated cheese mainly for the calories as I work on a busy ward). When I am nearer goal I shall be eating normal food but no carbs except those that are in veg the odd fruit and I will make my own low carb bread and stuff. Potatoes rice and pasta can do one!!

Thanks guys, changing my eating habits is defo something I have to work on, I'm hoping doing this diet will help change the way I think about food so I won't fall back into my old ways. Do you find exercise hard? I love going to the gym but scared of going incase I pass out lol xx

Have a look on the S&S information booklet thread and look at the booklet. Basically I'd say leave it the first week until you're in ketosis and used to it. You can do exercise but just take it carefully.

Hi Purple shell, welcome and good luck with your first few days, I'm on day 5 today and I have to say its easier today than the first three even four days were, for me day two and three were the worst and so I feel better now I have got through that initial period so just keep going and if you start to struggle at anytime just come on to minimins to let off steam, its always good to talk to others on here who understand the whole VLCD thing. There seem to be alot of people starting this week so there will be loads of new people as well as more experienced S&Savers on here to talk with. Re exercise, I would say for the first week at least take it easy, only because while I'm not into the gym myself I do mega long walks over the local moors each day with my dog and I walk fairly fast and I struggled on day 2 & 3 epsecially with the same length of walks I usually do as I was shaky, had a headache etc but today found my usual long morning walk much easier again so just allow yourself some time to adjust to the new diet. Em x
