Hi there!

My girlfriend and I have just taken our first baby steps on the CWP, we met with our consultant yesterday who is very nice and explained everything. She only lives round the corner so we can meet once a week without any problem.
We are doing the SS+ (I think!) where you have 3 Cambridge meals a days and a small meal.
As we both work full time we have opted to have shake/porridge for breakfast, small meal at lunchtime at work, then have a shake and soup in the evening.
I had a shake for breakfast, which was fine though left an odd aftertaste. She had porridge which she said was too sweet!
Lunch was cooked chicken sprinkled with chilli flakes and some broccoli.
I've bought a bottle of 750ml water so I know I need to have at least 3 of them a day, one down so far :)

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow though, reading some people breezing through the migration to ketosis and others having diarrhoea, constipation and so on!

Well that's enough for now, wish us luck!

Hello there! I started three days ago, so I've only just started myself. The first day for me was HELL and really hard to get through.
People have told me to just stick with it and it gets easier and easier. I have a few tips on my blog also, and will continue to keep adding some more.
I'm on SS (without the small meal) though, so getting into ketosis for you may take longer.

Good luck!

Well done guys, day 1 for me also, it was awful in the office with every bodies lunch aromas, i am also on the ss+ so I think I may try having my meal at lunch time as well.

keep going, we'l get there!!

Oh god this, this is what will be my test.
We have guys in the office that work shifts so from about 10am to 4pm I get the smells of hot lunch - especially the guy that likes his curries and makes really good ones.

Update:

End of day 1 was fine, had a vanilla shake when I got back from work, used a tip from here and added some instant coffee and ice to make a frappuccino - was lovely!

Had a Leek and Potato soup later on, wasn't expecting much from a powder soup but it wasn't too bad actually - tasted much like a canned one. Will get that one again.

Slept ok, but had to get up to pee during the middle of the night, guess I'll have to get used to that!

Day 2 has started with one of porridges that GF had yesterday and didn't like. I thought it was ok, but then I have a sweeter tooth than she does. Tasted like ready brek.

Packed a ready made shake for today's lunch as we're going to have an omelette each for dinner with our 2 allowed eggs with some pepper.

Still feel fine, though stomach is definitely starting to wonder what's going on - have given it plenty of water to keep it happy.

Day 2, easier to a degree not so easy to another, my stomach is begging for a snack especially at time it know I usually indulge, well that been said is it my stomach or my mind that know.....

Good luck with day 3

You are doing fantastic, keep up the good work!! First 4 days for me wernt good however I woke on day 5 feeling a new woman... sounds extreme but its true lol and ive never looked back. 30 weeks later here I am 6 stone 10lbs lighter and 1.5lbs off goal.

You sound like you have planned well ahead and definitely have your heads in the game. This is a great place for motivation and support so if your struggling... and we all do from time to time hop on here and there is always someone with a sympathetic ear. Even if you just wanna moan we'll listen.

Keep up the good work and let us know your week one loss :)

Wow well done LMS - thats fantastic - you must be so proud.

Hope everyone else if finding it OK - after the next couple of days it will get easier. Looking forward to hearing all your first week losses!:)

Update:

Oops, might have had an accidental slipup at end of day 2.
We made an omelette each with 2 eggs and used a bit of olive oil to cook it with it.
I checked the back of the bottle and it said Nil Carbs so I thought it would be fine, but then I texted my consultant who said we shouldn't use it at all! Oh dear, I hope that hasn't taken us out of ketosis.
What should we use to cook with?

Day 3 has started ok, no change still.
Had Maple & Pecan porridge which was ok, but I'm not a fan of nuts or a nutty taste so I might not have that one again.
Lunch is a ready made shake and toda I have a choice of Banana or Strawberry - such luxuries!

Think we are doing a prawn salad for dinner.

Lucifa,

You should perhaps ask your consultant if you can use the 1 cal oil sprays that you can get from the supermarket.
If not, and if you're going to be on the diet for a while, then I would invest in a good non-stick pan (Tefal etc.)
When I cook omelettes in my Tefal pan (I'm not at the moment because I'm on SS), I never use any oil because the omelette never sticks. If you look after the pan really well (by not using metal spatulas or overheating), then the non-stick lasts for years.

I actually prefer my omelettes without any oil :D

Weigh-in update!

It's only day 5, but as Friday is more suitable for us than Sunday we have had our first weigh in now.

*drum roll*

I lost 11lb and gf lost 5lb woo!

GF is a bit sad I lost twice as much but then men do lose weight quicker I think ?

We might do a cheeky weigh in on Sunday to see what our real week would be...

Been a while since I posted, but still going strong!
Thought I should post to celebrate getting under 30 BMI which I just hit yesterday and I'm 2/3 of the way through to goal weight.

Was 100% through to about early July then had a planned holiday and kinda kept slipping off now and again but still losing albeit more slowly, but just had a great week with 5 pound loss and I should see 14st on the scales this week or next which I haven't seen in about 15 years!
