First Food Diary

I have been following the Slimming World diet for many years on and off. I'm still a green/red day girl by heart, but really want to get to grips with Extra Easy.

After following this site for many months and reading the many helpful comments received by others, I have decided to keep a food diary to keep track of my eating and to get some much appreciated feedback.

Let's start then. I'm going to try and have a go at Extra Easy today...

Breakfast - orange, banana, tea with skimmed milk(HEA)

Dinner - Jacket potato with beans, 2 satsumas

Tea - spag bol, made with plenty of mushrooms, peppers and onions

Syns - 18 for 1 bottle of low alcohol wine (B by Black Tower). I have read varying syns values between 13 and 18 for this wine but will stick with 18 to be on the safe side
7.5 - 3 malibus and diet coke
10 - (approx for peanuts and cashews. I couldn't resist picking at a few!)

total syns - 35.5

Day Two - another Extra Easy day

Brunch - Fry up - 3 quorn sausages (3 syns), 3 bacon, mushrooms, beans, scrambled egg (nothing added and cooked in microwave) and 1 57g wholemeal roll (HEB) 2x tea with skimmed milk (HEA)

Snacks - orange, lots of black coffee and squash

Dinner (planned) - steak, sw chips and peas, tomato sauce (1 syn)
Dessert - Strawberries and grapes covered with muller yoghurt

Total Syns - 4

Day Three - Extra Easy

Back to work after Easter holidays, so hope to get eating habits back into routine

Breakfast - Cup of tea with skimmed milk (1/2 HEA)

Snack - banana and apple

Dinner- 4 Dark Rye Ryvita (HEB) with 2 Laughing cow Light Triangles (1/2 HEA), 2 satsumas and 1 plum

Tea - Beef stir fry (peppers, onions, mushrooms, courgettes, soy sauce and chinese 5 spices, with chopped frying steak) served with dried egg noddles

Dessert - small piece millionaire shortbread (5 syns), a bowl of strawberries and a mullerlight yoghurt

Total Syns - 5

Had a quick peek on scales this morning (WI not until Thurs) and it looks as though i've put on! Really not sure where i'm going wrong, unless flexi syn days at the weekend is not agreeing with me? It has always worked before!

It's my first real try at extra easy and not sure whether to stick with red and green days? Is anyone experiencing the same?????
 
Day Four - Green day

Breakfast - orange, tea (1/2 HEA)

Snack - banana, apple, black coffee

Dinner - 4 Dark Rye Ryvita (HEB) 2 Light Laughing Cow Triangles (1/2 HEA), 2 satsumas, plum, black coffee

Tea - cottage cheese and spinach canelloni with passata, mushrooms, onions and peppers, 1/2 wholemeal bread roll (HEB)
dessert - tiny piece millionaire shortbread (7 syns - to be safe), strawberries and muller yoghurt

Total Syns - 7 syns

(I'm a syn hoarder, ready for a few drinks on the weekend!)

Day Five - Green Day

breakfast - black coffee (forgot to eat my orange)

Snacks - banana, apple

Dinner - 4 Dark Rye Ryvitas (HEB) 2 light Laughing Cow Triangles (1/2 HEA), 2 satsumas, 1 plum

Tea - pasta with tomato sauce (made with tinned toms, peppers, onions, mushrooms, courgettes, spinach, garlic puree (1 syn))
Dessert - even tinier piece of millionaire shortbread (5 syns) strawberries, grapes, muller yoghurt

WI day tomorrow. Not holding out for a loss after disappointing sneek peak a few days ago! Fingers crossed

Total syns - 6

Day six - Green Day (WI day)

Disappointed to have only lost 1/2 a pound. That's a total loss of 1 and 1/2 pounds in first two weeks. I'm sure i'm doing someting wrong as I used to have much bigger losses in the early weeks when I first started SW a few years ago.

Breakfast - tea (1/2 HEA)

Snacks - apple, banana, black coffee

Dinner - 4 Dark Rye Ryvita (HEB) 2 light Laughing cow triangles (1/2 HEA), 2 satsumas, 1 plum

Tea - pasta with tomato sauce (left overs from last night)
Dessert - 3 roses chocolates (7.5) strawberries, grapes and a muller light

Total Syns - 8.5
 
Day seven - Extra Easy

Breakfast - tea (1/2 HEA) orange

Snacks - apple, banana, black coffee

Dinner - 4 Dark Rye Ryvitas (HEB) 2 Laughing cow triangles (1/2 HEA), grapes, 1 plum

Tea - steak and jacket potato (Planned as I am eating out and this is what I have planned from the menu in advance)
 
Hi Carb queen

I thought I would stop by - please try not to be too disheartened - you have lost both weeks, that's the main thing. I know exactly how you feel though, people are supposed to lose loads in the beginning right? Sadly that's not always the case. I have re joined SW about 5/6 times over the years and aside from the first time round, my losses have been really minimal. My last consultant (I have joined online now rather than class) said she thinks that in between the diet ie when you are off the wagon, you still subconsciously lightly follow the SW way, so when you rejoin your body doesn't necessarily go into panic lose mode. I bet if I went over to the dark side (WW) for a week I would see a huge loss because I have never tried it before and my body would go into shock.

Do you vary your meals from the last times you joined? Or do you stick to what you know ? My weight loss these last 7 weeks have been horrendous, while I admit there have been a few cheats on my part, my loss has been really slow. So I am going to do green days next week which I hardly ever do and I am going to incorporate as many pulses as I can as they are superspeed and high fibre, low GI, which will hopefully get my weight moving. Hey it's worth a try eh?
