Healthy Meals Out Thread

Hello all,

I thought it might be helpful for people to put ideas onto a thread of meals we have when we choose to go out for a meal, and stay to plan as much as possible. When it's just too much hassle to avoid going for a meal, whether it be for a birthday or whatever, hopefully if people share what they have it may helpful for others.

So tonight I had a meal at....

Wagamama!

Meal- Wagamama Ramen, without noodles. Wagamama is good because they cook everything fresh so you can request for ingredients to be omitted. Wagamama Ramen is a massive bowl of broth-like, thin, very tasty soup. In it is chicken, tofu, white fish, prawn, bamboo shoots, watercress, mushroom and seaweed. Usually they put a load of noodles in but I just said no noodles and it was delicious, and very filling.

The damage- not a lot! Nothing in there is too far off plan, wasn't worried about watercress or seaweed as there isn't too much and green leafy veg usually doesn't have many calories. There may be a little oil used to cook the meaty bits but this seemed to be minimal. The broth is very light, the protein parts are all on the allowed list.

I feel verrrrrrrry full....

Good idea for a thread! I normally have fillet steak (as it's the lowest calorie) with a salad without dressing. I ask them to leave off the chips etc so that they don't tempt me when they come. Sometimes I will have fish or chicken - but without a sauce. Everything is then on plan.

Great thread I've nothing to add at the moment lol but defo fancy a wagamama now :)

Ate out a fair bit whilst away and managed to come back 9lb lighter..so thought would put what we found. Pretty much anywhere will do you plain protein, just ask!! ..and be specific if ordering a dish on the menu with changes...no chips please, no bun please, no sauce, no tomatoes please!!! they will remeber :) (and they usually are not bothered at all!!)

Nando

Easy peasy... salad galore

1/4 Chicken

I usually have the butterfly

Butterfly chicken - its two chicken breasts (had this on my bday, took 1/2 home)

We went to bella italia on holiday, they were happy to do me two grilled chicken breasts & veggies, which was so succulent and delish

Also been for indian a fair amount - they are usually happy to do plain chicken... or for an odd treat...tandori chicken/tandori prawns..which are lush!

When out and about in town and needing lunch.. I usually go for the following

Marks & Spencers -
Honduran King Prawns - 90g is 76 cals/0.3gcarb
Sliced roast chicken - 100g, 136 cal/0.4g carb

Pret a manger
Nicoise salad - the small one- (ditch the dressing) ..so filling!
