New here and found it quite by chance when searching something else, but this forum looks ideal. I have 5.5 stones to lose, and have managed half a stone in the first 3 weeks due to being very careful with my eating. I am disabled so exercise is difficult but I am trying to do as much as physically possible. I am keeping everything below 3% fat, watching my calorie intake and generally trying to be sensible.

However, we all know that the first few weeks is the easy bit - sticking with it is much harder! I am seriously concerned about the effect my excess weight has on my body and will have in the future. My life expectancy is lower than most anyway due to my illness, but with kids, I intend to do all I can to maximise this! I am also aware that my eating habits have a bad effect on the children, and this is becoming more obvious as they get older and start to make their own food choices when not at home. I really don't want them to grow up to think that life is only as good as the amount of food you eat :(

I'm looking forward to reading more about everyone else and their efforts at losing weight, not to mention picking up some tips to help me through the bad days!
