Hello, I'm New :)

Hi! I am new to the forum but have been lurking for a while.

I have been dieting for most of my life and have followed the usual pattern of: join a club, do quite well for a while, give up, put all the weight back on with another stone on top:(

I will be 40 next year and feel if I don't lose the weight now, I probably never will. So, in January I started looking for a local club to join and my Mum said she quite fancied going too. We joined Slimming World and have both really enjoyed it. My Mum only has 1/2lb to go to target but I have a long way to go yet.

I am a vegetarian, so only do green days. I have lost 2st 11lbs so far but have probably another 6
stone to go. The support I get in my group is fantastic and it has been great going with my Mum but seeing all your success stories has been an inspiration.

I need all the help I can get

Hi Rosie, it's great that you and your mum could do it together!!! That's great motivation. All my family lives really far away, and my sister is currently doing her own thing. The BF is one of those lucky *******s that is all skin and bones, no matter what he eats. So I'm kinda doing it alone. We can keep each other motivated so!

Hi Rosie and valar :wave_cry:mind if I join you ,am at slimming world Too ,well done on your weight loss that's fantastic ,hope we can keep each other sane and motivated ,I am from Belfast ,xxxxxxx

It's so much better if you have someone to do SW together with. Like you my daughter and I are doing it together, but my grandaughter has also joined us, not to diet but to learn about making healthy choices. We are loving it, and doing it together adds a bit of healthy competition too.:D

Wow noticed that there a loadsa people doing slimming world on here, I'm doing a low GL myself, but I suppose the bad stuff is the same with any diet anyways :)

Btw. Sherlann, is that a greyhound in your avatar(photo is super tiny on my phonescreen)? Love greyhounds....planning on getting one when we buy our own house next year.

My Mum and I have been to many slimming clubs together and Mum has got to target with a few too, but something always happens that makes us stop going. This time we are both determined to stick at it, I still have a lot to lose and my Mum recognises that she has to keep going to stay at target so I think this has to be a lifetime commitment.

The support on here is great so none of us are alone:)

:D That is no greyhound, that is my Tia, a chocolate lab of 18months who I love to distraction. The angle of the photo is odd because she had been watching my OH doing his WiiFit and had fallen asleep upside down with her ball in her mouth, dopey dog!!:)
