Hi, just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm starting s&s tomorrow and looking forward to chatting to you all.

I've done cambridge in the past and went from 14 stone 5 to 10 stone 3 in 11 weeks but since getting pregnant with baby number 3 in may 2010 and having her 10 months ago the bad habits came back and the weight has crept back on (almost all of it :sigh:)

Welcome! We're all in start or restart mode here so you're in good company :). Having done Cambridge you will know what to expect but do come on here and share your highs and lows with everyone. The support is what makes us all successful on this diet xx

Welcome to S&S. Good luck with the losses!

Hi, i hate the first few days, not looking forward to that but once the hunger had gone i was ok last time. I know it's going to be harder this time with not having someone coming to weigh me so i'll be on here a lot trying to stay on the waggon. I've got a lot of bad habits too, like finishing off what the kids don't eat, i know i'll find it hard throwing food away but i've got to stay focussed.

Yeah, the first few days are the hardest as you know. However it's also when the commitment is at its highest so you will be fine.

It's absolutely fine weighing yourself. I did LT in the past and the chemist I went to for my packs and WI was as much use as a hole in the head ;), I got no support, just weighed and then got asked to hand over the dosh for the next week's packs. I've had far more support on here than anything I got from LT. Your CDC may have been better but you can still do just fine by using the support on this forum.

It also helps to post. If you feel a weak moment coming on then just come on here and surf around and that weak moment will pass.

My OH's leftovers are a bit easier to deal with - they go straight in the dog! :).

My CDC wasn't great i have to admit. I'm so glad i've found this forum, just stumbled across by chance through google trying to find reviews from people on s&s shakes. It's a great idea and like you say i can nip on if i'm at my wits end. Might have to go and buy a dog lol.
How much water are you managing a day?

I was the same - just stumbled on Minimins when I googled Slim and Save when I was trying to decide what diet to do. We didn't have our own forum then but there were about 4 of us who were all doing the diet so we hooked up on the VLCD forum and then someone (I don't remember who) got this forum set up. It's not as big or active as some of the other forums as it's quite a new diet but it's at least as effective as when I did LT and I'm enjoying the flavours much more so it's not such a chore to stick to it. I had real trouble going back to LT when I stopped for a while (in fact I just could not stick to it a second time) but I am actually quite looking forward to getting back onto the S&S packs after the Xmas excesses and I know that I can get to goal soon.

I'm on a 2 week break until 4th Jan when I restart but usually I manage about 3 litres. I usually have 4 cups of decaf black tea at work @ 400ml each (big cup!) and then another another 3 - 4 large (500ml) glasses of water when I get home. It's the water in the evening I struggle with the most - the tea at work is fine but sometimes I have to force the evening water down. At weekends I don't think I quite make the 3l tho ....

Sometimes it just doesn't go down does it. I remember a few times feeling like i was drowning. I used to put a bottle of water in the bathroom on the windowsill and one in the kitchen, then everytime i went into those rooms i'd have a good glug. I find it easier drinking water while i'm driving too. The kids are back at school on tuesday and i'm planning on drinking 1/2 litre on the morning journey and the same in the afternoon then my coffee and bits of water inbetween i'm aiming for 3 litres a day.
Going to have my first shake in a minute, got up late this morning problem is deciding what to have.

Hi Danielle

I am a new starter, official start day on Monday although I have been doing VLCD up until my evening meal to try and get my head in exactly the right place and hopefully make it easier when I go for it.

Been quite lucky that despite going on an all inclusive holiday to Egypt a couple of weeks ago and getting through xmas have managed NOT to put any weight on! Have even lost 1lb lol Bonus!!

Good luck with your journey and I look forward to following your progress!

Happy New Year

Lisa

Hi, well done you! That's excellent. I'm not sure what xmas has done to me as i haven't weighed myself for a couple of months but i know i'm almost at my heaviest again (hopefully for the last time)
It's a good idea what you've done getting yourself into the right mindset it won't be a huge transition for you when you do start and you now know what to expect. Looking forward to chatting, i know i'll be on here a lot lol. x

Great to have another newbie..ish. I regained 40 llbs of the 65llb I lost on LT post having my baby 3 years ago... Finally have my head n the right space to do this too.... Best of luck...
