Iv been doing slimming world on/off for last two years. When I first started I seen great results ie I lost around 3-4 stone I got down to 12stone 10lb I left sw over time and started out on my own which hasn't work as I'm now 1stone heavier ( iv had two weeks in America and married few weekends away etc) anyway I'm joining back in group wednesday but could do with some ideas on keep motivated, I do eat alot of takeaways as most nights buy time I finish housework or family vists etc I'm to tired to cook, iv got a problem eating pre prepared food like sandwiches as cant eat anything cold lol, is there any ideas out there that people have to get me back to losing weight? I know why I want to do it and I'd love nothing more to be 11 stone but after the first few days my mind goes back to eating a takeaway any help would really be appreciated

Thank you x

If you went to a bit of bother and made a big pot of soup, it's great to have in your fridge and just heat up. I put loads of veg, rice and nearly a whole chicken in it and use Knorr stock pots which make it very tasty.

In the magazine this month there is a little free booklet which has a number of takeaway type things you can make in a SW way. Maybe you could batch cook a few when you have some time and freeze them. Eating out is possible but would imagine that it's going to be difficult to do the plan and have regular takeaways. Alternatively look at the eating out threads and see how you can limit the damage. I guess you have to decide if your heart is really in it at the moment. You did it before so you know what it involves. Not sure if that's at all helpful :)

I love that little book :) Made a few things out of it already that have gone down brilliantly with even the non-dieters :) It's great being able to have people round and have a 'take away' that won't ruin the hard work I've put in all the rest of the week :) xx

It sounds like you slip into having takeaways because it is easier when you are busy and tired, so you need to find an alternative that is just as easy, but lower in syns. Could you set some time aside to batch cook some meals that you can freeze? Then you can just take them out to defrost first thing in the morning, and then throw them straight in the oven in the evening when you are tired - it would be even quicker than finding the takeaway menu!! Alternatively have a look in the free branded food or shopping directory for some low syn or syn free ready meals. Better still, try out some home cooked meal ideas that take minimal preparation. It hardly takes any time at all to sling a chicken breast, some veg and a jacket potato in the oven, especially if you buy preprepared veg (frozen if cheaper than fresh, which is stupidly overpriced if preprepared). Stir fries are also very quick, especially if uou by packets of stir fry veg, and you can add a tasty sauce for a few syns. Cooking from scratch doesn't have to be time consuming, but is definitely the way to keep syns down.

Welcome to this forum and SW!
Have you thought about a slow cooker? Just bung the ingredients in before going out and when you come back, one cooked meal......
