Hi

i've been on SS for nearly two weeks and I'm struggling. I'm on maternity leave at the moment so lots of time at home with temptation. Any ideas what to do? I have up and down days which can obviously have something to do with a new baby. I lost 5lbs in the first week, but I know I could have done better. I need a little pep talk I feel. Any buddies going through the same?

not exactly the same. but i struggle a lot as well. especially on the weekends. i'm studying for an exam in 2 weeks' time and not being able to munch is really hindering me. so right now a lot of personal struggles.
don't look at those 5lbs as an 'i could have done better'.. just look at it as an achievement! you lost 5lbs in one week. ppl don't do that on normal diets - usually ppl lose 1-2lbs per week when they just exercise and watch what they eat. so you're already ahead of the game.
just think about how much better you'll feel when the weight goes down. your clothes will fit better, you'll have more energy and your mood will be better as well. just focus on that.
i come on here a lot. look at the inspirational photo thread. that helps loads. look at clothes of what you want to be able to wear. i find that helps me.
and there was something my consultant said to me once that i repeat in my head sometimes that helps. she was just talking and she said 'i have some girls and the weight is dropping off them'. just imagine the weight 'dropping'. focus on what you want and you will get there.
we can do it!

How old is your baby?

Hi kandyfloss,
I am starting for the first time tomorrow and I am also on maternity leave with a 11 week old baby. I know it's gonna be hard but I am going to take pics to remind me of how I DO NOT want to look!! I am also going to try and get to baby groups Eric to fill my time so I'm nor sat at home.
If you like we could be diet buddy's? Xxx

Hi, are you breast feeding? If you are it is simply that you are not getting enough to feed you and baby and your body is telling you that you need more food. I don't think you are supposed to do SS up to 3 months after having a baby or if you are breast feeding for that reason. If you aren't breast feeding like you say the stresses of a new baby are going to be an added pressure, as well as being at home at lot, think of other things that you can be doing such as long walks, baby groups, lots of lunches with friends etc.

PS. well done on the 5lbs:D
