Hot shakes?

TrueBlueAngel

I WILL be thin!!
I've started Slim and Save this morning and wondered if I can make the shakes warm? Hoping so as its so cold and a hot shake would be better in this weather.

yes the caramel and latte shakes are both gorgeous hot , ive tried them recently as i have shakes to use up , i prefer the meals now , but they were perfect for the cold weather , and im actually wishing i had more now lol

I'm going to have to start having these hot as I'm feeling the cold.

A latte flavour I shall have to order some of them I like the sound of that x

Do not shake them with hot water - it will explode! There are a few ways to make them hot. Personally I blend with a hand blender - I like to make a latte with hot coffee hand blended with a vanilla shake. Other people say that they make it cold and then heat it in the microwave. I guess that is good if you don't have a blender but heating in the microwave can destroy the nutrients in a pack (at least the ones which are not specifically designed for heating!) so I wouldn't do this too often personally.

I was thinking of using cold water with hot as I can't drink it boiling.

Hopefully this will help me warm up as I'm freezing lately

another good idea is to make the chocolate shake hot but dunk a mint teabag in it to make a choc mint shake - really nice!

Theres no need to shake anything

when i make hot shakes , I just put the powder into a mug , then slowly add boiling water , whisking with a fork as i go

makes a lovely thick hot drink

I've always done it by mixing the powder with a little cold water then adding hot water to the paste but I alwasy got lumps! Today I put the powder in a jug, added hot water and used a hand blender (they are £5 in Tesco) then added a bit of cool so I could drink it. This was the caramel one, and actually I didn't find it that nice. Too much water. I like them really really thick, I bought wide straws just so I could drink them!

I always just add the shake to boiling water and use a hand blender - makes it nice and frothy and no lumps!

I didnt get any lumps with the caramel or caffe shakes, by stirring boiling water in very very gradually and whisking with a fork , maybe i just got lucky

had a leftover vanilla shake from my old weigh2go stock so had that hot today with a spoon of coffee , it was lumpy but drinkable

maybe some flavours need shaking more than others

Hi True Blue, I couldn't concentrate on your question as I have never seen anyone with only 4 lbs to lose starting S & S. Is it a particularly hard last bit to shift? Whatever the case, I do wish you success. 4lbs might go in days :)

Is finally having my last shake and it's a hot one yay that's really hitting the spot and warming me up :)

LOL...sorry, I hadnt updated. That was prior to Christmas but have gained some back so a little more to lose than 4lbs sadly

Phew, that's a relief! I was a bit concerned at your stats before you updated. Still wishing you good luck! It'll shift fast with S & S yumminess :)

I'm new to SnS but not VLCD having done Cambridge and Exante. Pity I hadnt discovered SnS sooner....much nicer, though the bars are a little small, but lush :D

I add a teaspoon of decaf coffee and hand blend with with vanilla shake and hot water. I split my pack yesterday so I could have 2, I also hand blend the chocolate shake with hot water sometimes - I've felt so cold since doing this diet - but expected it as read about it before, just add more clothes! :) I mix the crispy shakes with a fork and eat it like a cereal- I found hand blending it broke up all the cereal bits!

I'm gonna try the crispy shake tomorrow for a kind of breakfast and see what I think of it.
