Well, there went my cycling tour.....
Early this morning I had some strange fluttering/racing heartbeats, but I didn't think much of it and it disappeared, so at lunchtime I set off on my 10 mile cycling tour. I managed about two miles, then my heartbeat went funny again. I had to quickly abandon my tour plans and pushed the bike back home. By then I felt sick, dizzy and weak. Managed to get into my bathroom where I pretty much just collapsed on the floor. Ambulance was called - heart rate 190 (!) beats per minute, blood pressure 75/40. I normally have got high blood pressure and have been on medication for this for more than 1.5years. Congratulations! This whole thing went on for about two hours, I really thought "this is it now".
Well, back home now with a diagnosis of supraventricular tachycardia - yep, quite a mouthful :sigh: And will need further investigation.
Still feel like cr*p.
I guess, maybe my much improved diet and exercise regime has such a beneficial effect on my blood pressure that my meds need reviewing? Probably just wishful thinking. But hey, you never know.
Hope you all had a more pleasant Sunday.
