Job advice needed

There doesnt seem to be a right forum for this, but I put it here, but if its wrong, can a mod please move it?

I'm in a job that has become very stressful due to ongoing poor management, to the point that I'm currently off wuth stress. This isnt me. I'm gutted its come to this but its made me decide that I cannot return to this job. While I've been off, a job opportunity has arisen which would do me a world of good and have decided to go for it. I put 150% into my job and havent gotten much back so its time to put me first. Anyway, the predictament I have is that I'm still off sick for 3 weeks, intend to hand my notice in by Monday. Hubby seems to think that if I do this, I'll lose any sick pay (for all its worth!). For me, I just never want to return again. I have to move on. Whats the right way around this?

The answer to that question lies in your original employment contract. There should be a section on sick pay in there which will state the conditions.

Every company is different. They cannot reclaim Statutory Sick Pay, but any company pay over and above that I think may be dependent on the company.
