Keeping Lipotrim a Secret

Hi all! New to this site and forum so apologies if this thread exists anywhere else! I'm just looking for hints and tips on what to say in social situations if, like me, you have not told people you are dong Lipotrim? My mum and husband know but other than that I like to keep it to myself. I don't want people watching me constantly to see if I've lost weight (I want it to be a surprise I suppose) but I also know that everyone will have their opinion on the fact that I'm not eating at all, how bad it must be for me, yada yada!

I am lucky in that I am not working at the moment so I'm at home to take my shakes. My problem lies in meeting friends for lunch, dinner, coffee etc. I'm only on day 2 so I know I can fob most things off for a while but eventually something is going to come up that I can't avoid, like a family function and I'd like to be prepared. Also, people will notice in a few months how amazingly skinny I am (!) and I'd like to have a back-up story for that too! My husband said just to tell people I've had or have a stomach bug?!! Any better suggestions? Thank you! SMcF

Hello and welcome
I keep my lipotrim journey a secret also from work and so on.
When I told some people I didn't get a good response back. To be honest it is none of their business what I am doing. It's up to me.
I am ok about doing it. There not living my life so to hell with them!! Basically. This is a hard one just stick to water and say your not feeling too well and so on. I don't know how else to go about it. X

Thanks so much LadyKate! You're right, it is nobody's business. I also don't like discussing my weight with people (in denial much?!) Hopefully I'll manage to avoid awkward social situations as much as possible for the next 2 months or so. Thanks again.

Hi hunny and welcome, I kept it a secret for the first 5 weeks, apart from my hubs n kids and a mate that also on LT, my reason was that i am a serial dieter and didnt want an audience to my failure ( as i thought i would fail), I avoided social situs, as just for me I knew i would break, so didnt do much at all, but after 5 weeks and just over 2 stone off I had a 2 week break where we went on holiday and met up with several of our friends and family, THEN as i felt i had achieved much more than i had in years i was happy enough to tell them what i had done and that when i got home i was going for stage 2, my friends were impressed and pleased for me and some even decided to give it a go themselves. I havnt told my mum or parents in law, the reason behind this is they would disapprove, they can see i am losing weigh, and luckily have not asked, when i pop to see my mum i have a black coffee with her so nothing too strange there.

Some are happy to tell people from the start, some, like me arnt, it is up to you, as this is your journey, and at the end of the day if we all succeed then I dont care who poo poos me for how i did it, the point is I HAVE done it and starting to feel great, good luck, as Kate as said at the end of the day its no ones business.

If any help some just say they are on a chemist controlled diet, just to avoid saying what it is, good luck xxx

PS wouldnt go with the bug thing, as as you do loss weight people may think you have something worse and worry x

This is great, thanks ladies! Glad I'm not the only one who likes to diet in private! You're right about the tummy bug, people might think its something sinister. Wow Dizzy, can't believe you lost 2 stone in 5 weeks. Fingers crossed for similar results! So glad I found this forum. Thanks again!

Well I cant quite believe it either lol x

and Kate, we covered the point together lol xx

hi hope you don't mind me poking my nose in
i felt the same about not telling anyone except my fella, i'm not completley sure why, maybe thought they would judge me & infact i was right! someone had the cheek to tell me i was cheating!! so i challenged her to go six weeks without a morsal & then tell me if she viewed it as the easy option pft as u might guess she declined lol
so now if i have a situ i just brush it off with casual remarks about having eaten earlier or about how im being strict/good this week blah blah
like the other lovely ladies said its your/our journey... who needs hitch hikers anyway!
strength & good luck to all of you
Allie ?

Poke away Allie, I do it all the time on here! I can't believe someone told you you were cheating, how cheeky! I have been telling friends that I'm trying to be very healthy so that if food happens to turn up at functions I can say that I ate a healthy dinner/lunch before I left so that I wouldn't be tempted to make a pig I myself. To be honest, I think people tend to push food at me/us because they feel guilty about what they're eating, if that makes sense?! Like if I'm out for dinner with my husband and he doesn't want to order dessert then I don't order one either because I don't want to sit there eating one on my own, looking like the fatty with no restraint!

how flippin' rude to say you are cheating, jeez some people need a good slap!
