Has anyone used Ketostix to check they're in ketosis?

Reason I'm asking is I'm almost a week in and feel exactly the same as day 1 (I wasn't hungry on day 1). Not had bad breath or a furry tongue (maybe because I'm constantly sipping water?). So I honestly don't know how else to tell.
 
I use them when I'm restarting to check when I'm in ketosis but to be honest if you've been doing it for nearly a week then you will almost certainly be in by now. It takes 2 - 5 days usually. I usually start going into ketosis (light pink on the sticks) about 48 hours after my last carby meal, so by the end of day 2. By day 4 the stick is dark pink but any pink colour means that you are showing ketones in your urine. Apparently you should test in the morning 'mid flow' :) for the best result.

There isn't anything you really 'feel' in ketosis other than not feeling hungry, and most (but not all) people get the rancid breath taste. If you haven't been hungry since you started, and haven't got the bad breath then you've been lucky but you'll still be in ketosis regardless. The high level of water may have helped prevent the bad breath.

The benefit of ketosis (apart from the fat burning side) is that it just makes it much easier to cope when you don't feel hungry. That's not to say that you never feel hungry when in ketosis because there are some days I really feel hungry (usually coinciding with TOTM!) but mostly I don't feel hungry. I usually find days 2 and 3 the hardest and then it becomes easier as ketosis hits. Some people get carb withdrawal headaches and shaky for a few days but I've never had that personally.

So unless you're desperate to test then I'd say save your money. If you're sticking to the diet and losing weight then you will be in ketosis.
 
I've got my stix just to check when i'm in ketosis and then just check once a week (it's nice to see a pink stick for motivation). If you've done a week fully on plan then you'll be in ketosis.

I've needed reminding since day 1!!

My body is a bit odd in that if I don't early in the day I will forget to eat. When I was younger I went 3 days without eating just because I wasn't hungry. Bare in mind I was on an adventure activities holiday at the time!!
 
ROFL...we need lots of ideas to keep us off food and vino once we get to goal!
