Hi, my name's Kim, I'm 20 and have been 'dieting' on and off for as long as I can remember! I know we (or at least 'I') say this every time but this time it really does feels different, possibly because my I have my wonderful boyfriend supporting me (he's a massive inspiration as a few years ago he lost around 3 stone and last year completed his first marathon ) along with this amazing site.
Anyway, I'm hoping to lose at least 2.5 stone for our holiday to the Dominican Republic in September, as I wan't to actually be happy in a bikini, rather than apathetic like on last years trip. (Though at the time, apathetic was a massive jump from an 'over my dead body' attitude that I'd had for the many years previously)
Being healthy is a massive factor too, as my mum was recently diagnosed with a heart condition (at 43) and with that sort of family history, I don't want the added factor of weight leading me down the same path...
Over last year I managed to lose a fair bit of weight from calorie counting, (not sure how much as I used to avoid scales like the plague!) but put a fair few pounds back on between September and Christmas.
2009, however, has brought a new dedication to being healthy and happy with my weight and I've managed to drop just over 11lb in the last 6 weeks.
As a result, I thought it'd be a good idea to start a diary so I document how I'm doing/ feeling and hopefully get a bit of support along the way .
Like last time, I'm calorie counting and trying to eat about 1,200 a day. I'm swimming for an hour and a half 1-2 times a week and doing about 200 sit ups and 15 press ups on the days I don't swim, and trying to walk much more.
Anyway, walked to the swimming pool and back today and swam 50 lengths of 50 metres , the furthest to date. I've also managed to be relatively good food-wise and haven't eaten too many of my exercise calories. On about 500 atm, or 900 after tea. Then have room for a bit of something for supper.
Essay over! (If only my coursework was this easy! Lol)
