Extra Easy Let myself down :(.

Ok so I go on holiday on Monday, and I have planned for months I would 'relax' ny slimming world over my weeks holiday! But the thing is I don't leave til Monday and already I've let myself down, not by relaxing the rules too early but by totally throwing them out the window. Last night I had garlic bread with my sw spaghetti bol, followed by almost a bottle of wine, then tonight @ our bbq I just sat and ate a beef burger in a white bun processed cheese slice and everything, then as I'd eaten that I went on ahead and ate the crispy skin on my chicken thighs. :( I am gutted I have let myself down so badly so soon. Think I might have to tighten up my rules and stick to plan as much as possible on holidays, relaxing the rules clearly just isn't for me. There is no way i want to gain my 3st 4lbs I've already lost or hinder the rest of my journey. Gutted. Was really looking forward to my few extra treats this week. Has any one else struggled with relaxing the rules for holiday? K

Don't beat yourself up hun. Fresh day tomorrow

I stuck with it on holiday as ultimately this is a lifestyle rather than a drastic diet regime! ! Maybe mentally saying to yourself. . I'm going to be less strict is what triggered the binge? ?

You can enjoy your holiday and as usual continue sw principles. I had wine, pizza, oodles of fruit and veggies.. returned from holiday 5lb lighter! Without stressing over it

Enjoy your holiday. . Use your syns. . No guilt! !

X

Oh thank you! Wow 5lbs off that's amazing! I def think the fact I had decided to let the rules slip has lead to this pre holiday binge. And I am so cross! I have managed to stick on plan thro some horrible personal stuff, moving house and many birthdays and celebrations! Yet today I really let myself down. So I have sat here planning. Tomorrow will be 100% on plan, then on holiday I am going to stick to plan with allowances only for wine/couple of drinks in evening and we have a "cheese" nite planned which I am going to amend to include lots of v lean cured meats, and fresh crunchy veg so I don't go so far off plan. But as we r going to caravan, I plan to run every morning, and swim everyday that along with chasing after the kids all day long I hope to pull this back on track. It is v un-nerving being so far off plan! How sad but I actually think i'll be happier being in control and on plan (most of time!) Thank you so much for ur help! Tomorrow is another day! And Monday is the start of a new kind of holiday'ing!

Sounds like a plan :)

Enjoy your holiday xxx

Sometimes when we have things like holidays and special occasions coming up its hard to keep our head in the right place and not end up going completely off the rails.
What I try and tell myself is that if its something a "normal"(non dieting healthyish) person would do then its ok for me to do every now and then too.
Its 'normal' to go on holidays and maybe have treats and gain a few lbs so try and relax and enjoy it but not make yourself miserable before you've even gone let alone when there by eating more than you really want too x

I love this advice emsie, thankyou. I remember you gave this advice in a thread I created about not letting slimming world rule your life and it really has helped me. I went in holiday last week and yes, I did have some treats but I remembered that normal people do this - people go on holiday and they eat 'naughty foods' which is exactly what I did. I have gained weight as a result but its ok because I have got straight back on it and I am not going to let it ruin my diet or effect my attitude to it.

Lol I must be repeating myself. It helps me feel like am not deprived and can join in with others while having some control. I suppose its like flexi synning but I don't always find it easy to calculate syns for meals out etc so allow whatever syns are on the meal or the cake etc
Waffling again now but glad to have helped x

I did exactly the same thing last week leading up to Glastonbury festival, got into holiday mode straight after weigh in on thr Thursday before and was pretty bad really...sad thing is I only put 2lbs on over the 2 weeks and that damage will most probably have been done before and after the festival between weigh ins :( today is the first day I've been back on plan so I'm hoping I can pull it back for a loss on Thursday !

I was bad yesterday as I went to Hyde Park to see the Rolling Stones, so all thoughts of being healthy went out of the window.

Felt bad last night, but I am back on it today and hoping it does not affect me on Tuesday for weigh in.

Thank u so much everyone! I love the sentiment ... "would normal people do this..." Absolutely brilliant. That is going to be my guiding line all week! I can be on holiday follow sw principals and have a treat or two within the guidelines of a normal treat! Love it! Can't wait to go now! Just one more sleep!

Just thought I'd update! After a fab holiday, hubby and baby's birthday I managed to loose 3.5lbs at weigh in today! And picked up my 3 and half stone award! Soooooooooooooooooo happy! Thank you all for ur advice pre holiday!
