Like everyone else - I'm new!

Hey everyone! I'm Lucy, I live in Oxfordshire in the UK. I'm 28 and live with my partner, 17 month old son and disabled mother. I currently weigh 322lbs! Although this is quite a huge size, I'm relatively fit and active - my problem is comfort eating. I've been overweight since around 10 years of age, when my father passed away and I started being bullied for the weight I put on. I have never discussed my weight with anyone, nor have I seriously attempted to lose the weight. Until now.

On Tuesday I plan to go to my first ever Slimming World meeting! I've always been terrified at the idea of meetings, too terrified to join in fact! But since having my son, my fear of dying early is greater than any other fear, and I'm now excited to start my weight loss journey! I've read through the site anonymously, but decided to join and hopefully not only receive some support and information, but possibly I'll be able to contribute somehow!

My plan is to get within a healthy BMI - I know I have a lot of weight to lose, but I'm starting to see it less as a bigger obstacle, and more as a greater acheivement when I succeed!

Thank you for reading, everyone! And good luck to those also on a journey!

at the best with weight loss Lu. Well done making the first step, and I am sure they will all be supportive at SW.
I 've heard it's a good plan for those who fear feeling deprived (i.e. comfort eaters). don't forget to build your support network in other ways too as it sounds like you've got a lot to cope with.
I'm a new starter here too, got a long way to go, but realistically just aiming to 10% loss, as the big picture is too daunting.
